How likely is it that a 16 foot PODS container, parked in the driveway, to be filled with stuff from a 1200 square foot, 3 bdrm house (& stuff in the garage, which was used for storage), will do damage to the concrete of he driveway?
I was told friends were being enlisted for the move, & not told about PODS or I would have taken photos of the driveway.
Thanks!
Fab Gal

Concrete driveway will be fine. If asphalt I would be concerned. --68.46.xx.xxx |

is it already in place? I would let them know that if there is damage from its placement/removal it will bn their dime that it gets repaired as needed.
BUT....if I recall correctly they are lifted and put in place, not dragged or on metal wheels.

Concrete wont be a problem,i would expect some damage if it was asphalt just as Larry said --72.231.xxx.xxx |

The bigger concern I would be having would be is a 16 footer going to be big enough to haul their items away --24.101.xxx.xxx |

Thank you everyone! Yes, it was set into place.
Ray, I wondered the same thing myself. --68.8.xxx.xxx |

If there is anything surrounding the POD there is the potential for damage. Our bushes were burned and left with oil all over the end portions. Yes they grow back, but it took 2 years for them to get back to their former glory. Not a good look for the front of the house for us, the neighbors and those you are showing to rent. --75.11.xx.xx |

Damage can still occur when the company tries to remove the PODS. They can scrape the concrete and put gashes in the finish. This is why I PUT any storage item up ono 4 x 6 blocks. Some pods are built on a pallet so they can be lifted up with out damaging the surface.
I had a tenant get a 20 foot shipping container for storage on my rental property. They agreement is the container will stay. But if the tenant is going to move it, boards have to be laid over the brick designs between each 12 foot concrete pad, so there will be no damage.
Then when the tenants were ready to go, they got someone with a long tow truck to remove the container, valued at $2,500 at the time. The tow truck used a cable to pull the container up on it's sliding deck and scrapped they concrete with deep gashes. Then he drove his two truck over the brick designs between the various 12' concrete pads and with the heavy weight, a 20,000 pound tow truck and a 12,000 container filled with junk, he damaged my brick work.
The tenant ran away and would not pay to repair the damages. The two truck company claimed someone stole their truck, but it was in their lot and no police report was filed.
Because this tenant put in an above ground pool, storage container and trampoline, I got my tenant Renters Insurance with coverage going to the landlord for property damages. The tenant forgot that I'd been paying the policy and that he had coverage. So I put in a claim and got paid. They Renters Insurance went after the two truck company and my x-tenant and got some of the money back. I paid $500 a year for coverage and go tons back in repairs. --47.155.xx.xxx |

I had a POD in my personal concrete driveway for 4 months this past year with A LOT of stuff in it. No damage whatsoever. They do not pull it so no scraping. The truck has a hoist/lift that lifts it in the air and then places it down on the truck bed. --98.237.xxx.xx |
