Deadbeat's New Address (by Viva [MD]) Posted on: Jan 18, 2022 11:17 PM

This deadbeat was evicted for nonpayment, overstaying, leaving the place in a mess, etc after months of hard work; I need to find him to serve the papers, force to pay all dues, etc. I know it may not be worth it, but I'm doing this on principle. I know he still lives is in the area, as he has a business and his phone number is still intact, which he uses for both business and personal. How do I find his address to go after him. How do I go by in this situation. What else can I do against him. Pls help, appreciated all your kind wisdom of my fellow LLs, you are the best.

I've seen sting operations where this "business" person responds to a business call, then gets served at that time. Can you pay extra for the sheriff's office to serve in this situation? Good luck and please let us know how it ends up. --73.215.xxx.xx

Tony,

That would be so AWESOME to have a deadbeat tenant come to ME to receive his papers!!!

I'm definitely trying this next time I have that situation. I'll get him to meet me in a public, neutral place like a McD's.

I'm already smiling at the imagined look on his face! --69.80.xx.xx

Note that here in Missouri if the process server serves the people at work they can only serve the one person working there.

However if the processor server serves someone at their house they can serve (give) ALL service notices to one person.

At least that is what I was told. I needed to serve husband and wife. Husband had court and the process server came to city court and told me that. I said "OK" lets just wait until court is over, follow him to his house, 1 and 1/2 blocks away, and then serve him both papers. Worked like a lucky charms. --173.187.xxx.xxx

There has to be some sort of registration address for the business with the city or state. Is it an LLC or Corp? --73.141.xxx.xxx

I just sent an email to the lawyer that did my last eviction. I saw the deadbeat driving a tow truck so I either found out where he works or he stole it.

Since I already have the eviction done with the lawyer can start the process to chase his employment down. Maybe he quits, maybe I get a garnishment. Either way I am fine as long as he is being pursued.

I never expect to collect from a deadbeat. That way if it happens it is a bonus! --107.147.xx.xxx
