I use Zinnsler cover stain which is bullet proof oil based primer to paint the trim and for primer in general. I generally use disposable brushes to apply since is time consuming to wash and reuse the brushes not to mention almost impossible to get thoroughly clean afterwards. I use good (pricey) brushes for my latex paint.
What type of disposal paint brushes do you purchase? --72.231.xxx.xx |

I get the ones from harbor freight. If it's a small area, I'll use the chip brushes, but if it's more area i'll use a slightly better quality brush from Harbor Freight. --96.237.xx.xxx |

I don't use brushes on walls. I use a foam painting pad, as they work best. The trick is to not load it with to much paint. On trim I will use a brush but I do not have a go to brand. The ones from merchandise outlet work best and the cost was less than Lowe's, etc. --67.22.x.x |

Foam brushes have imploded on me when using anything other than latex. --72.231.xxx.xx |

Our Home Depot often sells the entire beginner's paint kit for cheaper than one mediocre brush: two brushes, a roller, tray, etc. As a result, we have a tons of those kits with no brushes - they get thrown away after use. As do the rollers. --50.82.xxx.xxx |

Harbor Freight cheap brushes are OK, but the ones from Dollar Tree are better. Don't get the ones that are multiple brushes in a plastic bag for a dollar, they are junk. Get the ones with the wood handle that are a dollar each. They have 3", 2", 1" and 1 1/2" sash (angled.) --73.141.xxx.xxx |
