Starting to see instagram posts on this... Metaverse. From my understanding you can "buy" land/property in it. Rent it out. One guy bought a "property" and is using as his art gallery. He hangs his NFT in there. Buys and trades the NFT there.

I haven't verified yet, but supposedly someone spent $2.4 million for a building/land in it...

Anybody else look into this? This is like waaaaay outside the box of real estate investing.

T,

That's interesting stuff. From what I see it's been around a few years but is starting to gain traction. It's mostly the younger crowd/gamers that seem to know more about it. From what I'm seeing:

1. It's getting bigger.

2. It's not going away soon.

3. Some people are using stuff like this to move funds

outside the reach of banks and govt.

I'd be careful investing as I don't really know how clever thieves could rip me off. When I don't know the risks and how to minimise or avoid them, I either pass or move slow while I learn more.

I'm also seeing a lot more of the online gaming getting big returns via crypto and the NFT's.

From what I'm seeing, there are a lot of ways to lose money in this so if I do any, it is ONLY with mad money that I can afford to lose and not worry about. (Right now, the investments I have in the crypto universe are up about 500 percent for the year- beats bank rates but still very small totals compared to the overall portfolio, I just will not risk it all or even a big percentage- the risk is just too high. Only the money I would waste at a casino, if I went to casinos). --75.7.xx.xx

I guess if all you own is online in the metaverse, (as they’ve called it) then you truly will own nothing and be happy… And stupid. --24.152.xxx.xx

I am sure if I look for it, I think I could play monopoly online for free and risk nothing. Strangely though, after playing it in real life, the game seems boring. --24.101.xxx.xxx

But ray.... if you play the game and actual money showed up in your bank account. Changes the "rush/boredom" of playing. --76.77.xxx.xxx
