Hello
I have a tenant that had their electric turned off. They cut the tag and turned it on illegally. I have called the electric company several times and every time they say they will send someone out. From past experience if I dont "self report" they will charge me the landlord with a tampering fee not to mention its dangerous not to have the electric on correctly. Any suggestions on how to get the electric company to do what they should do?
Thanks in advance State Specific Question About: OHIO (OH)

Hard to prove a phone call. I'll tell you the same as I tell the tenants: put your complaint in writing and send it through the mail with receipt requested, or hand it over in person and get a receipt. --76.178.xxx.xxx |

go to the sec of state web site and find who receives legal correspondence for the company. Send your letter to them. --99.103.xxx.xxx |

Contact PUCO in Columbus via e-mail. They are on speed dial with all utilities in the state. The utilities do not want a record of complaints as that slows or hinders any future rate increases. You'll get a same day response. --184.57.xxx.xx |
