NE brought up getting checking into COVID insurance for your buildings.
Does anyone have any knowledge of COVID insurance for STRs. In the past, I have had Canadian snowbirds?
In 2020, I refunded for cancellations for COVID, but don't plan to do that in 2022. Has anyone found good travel insurance options with COVID coverage for older (over 70) Canadians coming into the U.S? A number of the plans with COVID coverage are either no longer being offered, are for U.S. residents only, or are only offered through big travel providers like cruiselines. The travel insurance options easily found for Canadians have been expensive and are based on age and health.
A quick search of business interruption and loss of rents for my units does not easily indicate that they would apply to my STR.

I don’t have any “Covid” insurance, but I do have forced quarantine of building coverage. I do check with my agent from time to time for pandemic riders, but so far nothing yet. My point for the whole thing would be to get the state health department to shut my building down over Covid. If they do, great, I can turn it into insurance. If they don’t, which I prefer, I would get that in writing and consider it a free pass from here on out. It ends the myth and emotion with fact. Because if the state’s not going to shut the building down for this, why worry about it? --24.152.xxx.xx |

It could have the added benefit of never hearing about this again from a tenant also. If you shut down the whole building with forced quarantine, they’re going to be a little reluctant to tell you again in the future. It would work especially well in multi units. --24.152.xxx.xx |

I know Auto Owners specifically does not issue any pandemic losses. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
