Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving,

Curious as to how many of you use "Bulk email" or "Group email"?

Many times I need to send out an email to everyone concerning maintenance. Perfect example is I have all roofs blown in the fall, after majority of tree leaves have fallen.

In the past, I copy and paste the same email to each property contact individually. Tedious and time consuming. But, I do not want other residents' name and email addresses visible to others. And I would prefer that my residents not know about other properties.

Any insights or information you would like to share with me will be greatly appreciated.

Shaun

Never ever ever would I risk sending an email to all of my tenants at the same time. I will text an individual tenant as needed and that’s about it. --24.152.xxx.xx

I will send group emails only to our duplexes, as they all know each other anyway.

You can use Blind Copy and email the original to yourself. --50.82.xxx.xxx

Like WMH says you can use the BCC field to do this. Mail the email to yourself and put every other recipient email in the bcc field. --50.239.xx.xxx

No email address listed in the bcc field will be visible to others. Nor will anyone listed in the bcc field receive any “reply all” replies. --50.239.xx.xxx

Thank you for your input.

The article / directions state to use BCC.

I would like to know if anyone has experienced any issues with using 'BBC'.

Article was written for small businesses. In order to communicate with multiple clients.

We all get bulk emails. I get group/bulk emails from Home Depot, Lowes, Cali flooring, Schwab, Credit Union, etc., just to name a few. --173.31.xxx.xxx

If you have a GMAIL account, go to your contacts section (click the 9 dot square in the upper right if you are in the mail section and go to the contacts section) and put in all your tenants email addresses individually. Then make a label called "Tenant". There is a button the left that says create label. When you look at the list of contacts there are 3 vertical dots to the right side of their name. Click on that and at the bottom of the dialog box is a thing that says Labels and should list your newly created label of "Tenant". Click on the word and there should now be a check mark by it. Do that for everyone you want in the Tenant section.

When you have done that for everyone go back to your email page. Compose a new email and on the upper right corner will be BCC (which stands for blind carbon copy). Click on that and then type Tenant and your list of tenants will show up and they will not be able to see who your are emailing. Finish the body of the email with "wishing you all a very happy thanksgiving" or " quarterly inspections will be the 25th from 1 to 3" or "freeze warning tonight let a little water drip at your sink to prevent your pipes from freezing" or whatever and click send.

Hope that helps you. It makes it very easy to send out quick emails to all the tenants. --71.217.xxx.xx

If you use a third-party mailer like MailChimp, you wont risk having your mailserver show up on a spamlist while getting the benefit of additional data like if opened, if link in email clicked on, etc. --108.69.xxx.xxx

SHAUN,

I use SimpleTexting.com

Marketing experts smarter than me say emails are not read but texts are.

I set up each res into a group.

(Must send them an intro email to comply legally)

I type my message (happy holiday, test your furnace, Fire Prevention Month, National Donut Day/ Ice Cream Day, referrals reminder about vacancies, pipe freeze alert...)

Select the group,

Send.

I can prep this at midnight and schedule it for the next morning.

No one can see anyone else’s info.

Statistics show that people read texts when they arrive.

Email service providers are increasing spam filters, limiting emails going thru.
