I guess I should be happy in that RAFT paid me about 25K in back rent, but it galls me that these people get 4,400 from a combo of army payment and social security.There unit is large and in good shape and the rent is 1200 heat included, Since there they have purchased and SUV, new expensive furniture,a huge TV, a new washer and dryer, Gym equipment etc.

They are not nice tenants and we are trying to get them out,.It hasn't been easy even with a good lawyer recommended by our LL assoc.

I can only guess that they lied about their income. I don't understand how the RAFT people don't check on this. We all have to pay these payouts,.

My area to qualify for rent relief. They can make up to 63K for 2 member household.

Tony, you should start by perhaps reporting this to a trusted and conservative news source. I'm not sure of the government agency in which to contact, but you should be able to figure it out.

I don't think they'd come after you for the money. They would likely come after your tenants eventually (if anything).

CERA needs to and should contact LL's. I have a tenant that is 4 months behind in rent.

I just found out yesterday she is applying for CERA relief. She and her case worker wanted just her to apply. I found out if I am left out of the process, all the back rent payment goes to her, directly. She is supposed to move out on the 19th of this month and that money sure would be nice for her, as I would never see it. So, I found out about what was happening, because I have stayed in contact with her old (first) case worker and was informed.

I received the phone number of the case worker working for CERA and insisted that I be a part of the landlord/tenant process, because that way the check comes directly to me.

It makes me wonder how many tenants get behind in their rent, on purpose, apply for assistance, without the LL knowing and receive a nice check in the bargain.
