First of all, I assumed that being in law enforcement would have made you a bit desensitized about guns. And when I was 15-16, the gun in the house was mine and my responsibility alone. But back then, we were taught that shooting people was wrong. Also here in TX, if a cop pulls you over, and you show him your carry permit, you might get a scolding if you aren't carrying.
My biggest gripe about the post is that while yes, he should store it in a better lockbox, he should also move it upstairs to the bedroom. How's he going to get to it if he needs it? Also, if you're posting from the Chicago area then he'll definitely need a gun.
