Agree, write a letter to their supervisor. It helps them more than simply writing a letter to them. I would also agree to a point on brownies and a card. If you bake them, they may go straight to the trash can. If it's pre-packaged, they may eat them. Maybe a $5 Starbucks (or other local coffee shop) gift card instead? --70.179.xxx.xxx |

Last week I wrote (typed) a 'thank-you' note addressed to General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. If you read the book Peril by Bob Woodward, you will understand why I wrote that thank-you note.
So yes, go ahead and send a thank-you note to those deputies. I am sure they will appreciate it. Writing thank-you notes are the easiest types of letters to write. Neighbors front yard in the dark while I talked to 911. It took all 4 deputies to get him under control and in handcuffs. I had him arrested for terroristic threatening and menacing . I would write each of them a personal thank you n te.... they can basically say the same thing with just a few wording adjustments. I would also do the same sending them to the chief of police (or whoever the head figurehead is). One for each officer.
Here, they would not be permitted to accept even a $5 coffee card. The station as a whole could accept something. I would have a local bakery or deli fix up a tray of baked goods or sandwiches and a pasta salad. --98.237.xxx.xx |

My local guys cannto accept gifts.
But a handwritten card to each AND the supervisor will go far.
A tray for food for the breakroom with a sign thanking each by name will make them look good in front of their peers.

It is rare for someone to write a thank-you note these days. I am sure that would be much more appreciated than something artery-clogging.
I recently sent a letter to the police chief in the city where we run a short-term rental. We didn't realize when DH's business partner bought the property that it was across the street from a drug house. There was a raid several months ago, and since then the steady traffic in and out has dried up almost completely. We completely redid the exterior of the house, so I sent the police chief before and after pictures and told him that his men's efforts had made a visible difference in the city.
I'm laying the groundwork for a chat with him in a month or two to talk about the drug house behind our property, as well as the one on the other side. Still cleaning up the mess from DH's crooked business partner. Stay away from partnerships! --104.230.xxx.xx |
