Newish microwave not working after a power surge. No warranty..can I fix it, or just buy a new microwave?

It may be an internal ceramic fuse that is a slow blow for a power surge. Cost to fix 1/2 the price or more than a new one. If your not handy, by a new one.. Cost of a new ceramic fuse, a few bucks. --47.155.xx.xxx

You may find some YouTube videos on how to fix it

I fixed a dishwasher that stopped working, and I just needed a fuse and found good videos to show me what to do

The cost to replace with a new dishwasher was going to be $1000+ and the fuse was about $15

Good luck --89.45.xxx.xxx

I would suggest you replace it.

There is very high voltage transformer in there.

However it could just be a fuse. --73.120.xx.xxx

Find a model railroad of ham radio hobbyist, it is high voltage (6-9,000 volts) and easy if you know how. 400 bux to replace 10 dollar part carefully and correctly. --76.188.xxx.xxx
