Not sure how many of you purchased OGM rights after learning about buying performing wells at the convention.

That said, if you did - you have doubled your money since then. Additionally, I am now reading where there will be a global energy crisis as the winter months approach.

Guy at Peregrine Energy wasn't BSing anyone. I stumbled across him when the economy was shut down. He was then saying historically, these thing pay between 8-10% annually. Well - since at the time oil prices were negative and natural gas was at a five year low, I bought only the natural gas ......I feared companies going belly up with oil. This is now yielding over 17% - as this crunch is approaching.

Looking back, I sure wish I had a bit more courage to chase the oil instead. The returns would have been so much huger. That said, still can't complain with those results

I have been collecting OGM royalties since 2008. I keep the mineral rights on every property that I sell, regardless if it is producing or not. Unless they are reserved by the previous owner. Gas royalties is easy money. --24.152.xxx.xx

And if New York ever opens up to fracking, it will be a feeding frenzy of deeds changing hands up there. I’m sure all of the large tracks have been scarfed up by this point, but it’s nothing to make $100-$200 per month per acre around here. And that’s after 10 years of continuous production. So anybody that can get into the Marsellus shale region along the southern tier of New York, will do quite well when the time comes. --24.152.xxx.xx

Min play with a 1031 is $100,000

Min play without a 1031 might be as low as $50,000 I think.

You do get a depletion allowance on your taxes annually.

I could see an opportunity for a flip on energy if someone wanted to do that in a Roth IRA. OPEC doesn't want to play so you be betting that Russia continues not to play nice - all the while where we slowly slog along out of this self inflected poison.

I don't think it is a Rep or Dem issue......it just will take time and energy. --24.101.xxx.xxx

PMH,

You are absolutely right.....me or you are not able to do this - alone. That is why you need to involve an land energy broker with the staff to tell you the difference between the Eagle Ford and Barnett.

I have used Peregrine in the past. I am please with the plays in Natural Gas in both WV and SW Pa.

Who are you using now? Are you happy with their work? are you playing oil or gas? --24.101.xxx.xxx

RAY: shale maps are irrelevant. here in TX rights do not usually go with land purchase. I don’t have any plays. many horse heads producing just a few barrels a day & the big cos don’t bother with buying from them. the local cos may. just like when people conned into buying a few acres of forest not worth the costs to cut, pipe or haul. add in broker costs & just a tax play for you (?) --107.77.xxx.xxx
