Is there a way to have the post office verify whose mail is going to your property? I think there is another adult living there that I know nothing about.

Probably not. Could be mail in the box from a long ago resident. I used to find mail after someone moved, from people who lived there 20 years before. Old mailing lists get sold to unsuspecting buyers. Put a small garbage can near the mailbox and label it "paper recycling". See what ends up in it as discarded mail. If it's a single family home, check the recycling bucket. --108.24.xx.xx

Not really. Probably not legal but it is your mail box so if not locked you could look at the contents. I have a close relationship with my neighbors and I have them rat out my tenants. --89.45.xx.xxx

Back when telephone solicitations where in their heyday, I started using my dog, Lilly's name to fill out information sheets, such as open house registers or to order things, such as magazines. When someone would call and ask to speak to Lilly, I knew the call was a solicitation and would whistle for the dog and command her to "speak". Lilly Bell still gets mail at my address. My current dog Louise, a Black lab, gets mail addressed to Louise Black. I have had a number of pets who order things and receive mail at my address. --73.40.xxx.xx

Sparky,

What do you mean "back when telephone solicitations were in their heyday"?

It's never been worse for me. I have tried hanging up, pushing the number to be removed from the list, and I have even tried stringing them along to waste their time hoping that would get them to remove me from their lists.

It never stops. I just went back to hanging up right away.

Dino, never push the number they give you to be removed from their list. All that does is help them confirm that they have a good number to reach you.

Just let everyone leave a message unless you know who's calling. --73.25.xx.xxx
