HD Confirm No PVC Wains

So our HD just confirmed to DH that no more Allure Glue Strip, and what might be even worse, no more PVC Wainscoting! We use this in all of our bathroom projects!

Lowes still has the wainscoting for now.

Drat! I was thinking of trying that pvc wainscoting on a bathroom. Oh well, that project is at least two years away anyway.

I scoured the HD website and two stores for the add on encapsulated door blinds I use. For some reason, they never had shown up as in stock inventory, but I always managed to find them. Not this time. A quick online search shows Lowe’s and Menards both now carry them for special order. Much pricier though. --172.56.xx.xxx

Just guessing here, but I think we may be in for a lot of things missing for a while.

Thanks for the information. I saw the HD video and this Allure product has an adhesive backing to it and it can be repositioned if you want to pull it up. Cost is $2.29 sq.ft. --68.63.xxx.xxx

I’ve been looking for the grip strip that we’ve been using since 2011…. So I’m glad to see something else available. A bit more expensive, but not as bad as the click-lock.

I’ve got most of 2 pallets of the grip strip in storage in my basement, but we are about to need 2-3 more pallets for the new 4plex I’m working on.

Looks interesting.

For us maybe just an option for kitchen and baths.

If glue is no better than regular peel and stick. Could even add glue to the floor and still remove with a heat gun.

Main plus for me. Is it will not be able to trap water underneath. Sit sit there forever.

Like dog urine, or overflowing toilet water.
