I have a new tenant that is requesting a security system and he prefers to use EUFY, as this is a system he is familiar with and he will do all the installing if I order the complete set and add the video doorbell and ship to him per Amazon. My questions:
1. Do I allow him to do the setup and sync with his wifi/app? How do I have access if he moves?
2. Am I liable if the system fails and he has property stolen?
3. Would you do this? And if so, is this a decent system vs something like Ring? --99.45.xx.xx |

A security system is on the tenant not you, unless you are monitoring the exterior. Why would you buy him an expensive security system that he can take with him (and will?) --50.82.xxx.xxx |

WMHis right.
All I recommend you do is (if you want to allow it) create a document that spells out very clearly how/where it needs to be installed, that it must be removed/put back to original condition, etc.
Or, if you prefer, say it must stay with the property. --68.229.xxx.xxx |

I wouldn't have a problem with them installing at their expense as long as they sign a document saying they will remove everything upon leaving and return all the walls and doorbell to their original configuration at their expense. --65.188.xxx.xxx |

And how many holes will be made and where? Even wireless stuff needs 'installation' --24.194.xxx.xxx |

Rhonda,
I'm with plenty. We don't have to answer EVERY request.
Sometimes the best thing a manager can do is keep their mouth shut. This is likely to disappear.
If he presses the issue I would approve WIRELESS installation to his own wifi, at his expense.
Your lease should already include verbiage about not attaching things to the building and repairing damage.
My lease is clear: Nothing is to be attached the wall, ceiling, siding, etc. Repairing damage such as screw holes is billed at $65 per hour plus materials and mileage.
On the flip side...I smell money. Security systems are IN. We provide, for additional rent, a SimpliSafe or RING system. They pay for the monitoring.
BRAD
PS I'm not a pro but I've never heard of that brand. --73.102.xxx.xxx |

MYOB, newbies who don't understand how open this board is. Especially if they join the Gold Club or whatever it's called, they probably think this is a private group. Way back in the day, I did. --50.82.xxx.xxx |

You're right, I'm a newbie. Please tell me how to delete this thread. This is the worst forum format I've ever seen and I don't see a delete thread button. Thanks for the responses. --99.45.xx.xx |

Eufy is not a bad product, is good, they also have Wireless products, the only thing will require is some bolts to secure it where is going to be installed, look here: a m a z o n dot c o m/eufy-Security-Wireless-Compatibility-Weatherproof/dp/B07Z35RM2Q.
245 for 2 cameras, i don't have experience with them, i have Ring myself. I will let them doing it just double check where will be the installation, that they need to confirm with be before hand, and they purchase it on their own, and you detach for any responsibility. --98.216.xx.xxx |

Rhonda - I think there should be a large statement above the page where you start a thread reminding people to not use their full name when posting. Most here use some sort pseudonym. --76.179.xxx.xx |
