Are you familiar with drywall drop ceiling grid? The commercial installer who sheetrocked my fire building, will frame and hang 3 rooms for $500 in a unit where I'm doing away w/ junked drop ceilings.
The grid called 650 grid made by chicago metallic costs a dollar a ft. and will cost about 300 for the parts (NIC sheetrock). I am keeping the ceiling lowered due to the hydronic piping and electric runs. I want to put at least 2" foam insulation up for soundproofing, and it can lay on top of the grid, so I save on the labor of fastening that in place.
Thoughts? --24.194.xxx.xxx |

I've used a similar product that I got from KAMCO, a drywall & suspended ceiling supplier in my area. It worked great. --71.184.xxx.xxx |

A heavy duty (metal) grid system with
rails wide and strong enough to screw / fasten drywall
to its face side.
