Lady has aquired a therapy dog,...can't do much about that,..I have to say the woman is very nice and is taking care of a very sick friend where she has to go out in the afternoon and comes back at around 11 pm..

a terrible family lives above her that we are trying to get rid of them,.(COVID not paying rent for about a year and doing other bad stuff,..) We are in court now,..extended to Nov)

They don't like the tenant because she once called the police on them from fighting /screaming until very late early mornings,which other tenants say it happens very often

They are teasing the dog making her bark , then calling the police on her,

Do NOT leave a bark collar on a dog when they are alone. Those things are made in China, can misfire and cause a dog severe pain. They are training aids only.

Why doesn’t she take her dog with her since it’s supposedly a therapy dog?

Her friend is very sick and can't bring her inside the sick person's house,..its still hot here and can't leave the dog in her car,..

She has been a model tenant,..cleans the whole property up because she says she likes doing it,..

I don't like the bark collars. They can be set off by other loud noises besides the dog barking. Your upstairs can learn how to set the collar off and torture the dog.

Dogs can be trained to alert bark and then be quiet. The best solution is for your tenant to take the time to teach the dog not to bark.

Seriously I’m not getting it.

Look up your noise ordinance and see if the upstairs tenant is violating it. Give a copy to the other tenant and have them cite it when the police come. If they are presented w the statue they should enforce it. Likewise try involving the animal control officer. They might do something about animal cruelty w the teasing.

I like Lisa's idea about the amplifier. I mounted 2 gag gifts called "Friggen cricket" to the 1st floor floor joists from the basement under the bedroom of my last COVID loser. They were still going when I got the unit back.

I have bark collars for both my dogs. My Sheltie is a barkaholic and a drama queen. When he gets wound up after midnight over coyotes or deer or the moon, I wait at the dog door with his bark collar. My dogs have an always open dog door and 70 acres to guard. If I get it on him, he stays home and stays quiet. If he is too fast, he sees it, moans, and runs, but he also shuts up. My newer shelter adopted big dog just has to see it swinging in my hand and she shuts up too.

I'm wondering if the "bark be gone", which is not a collar, but apparently emits a high pitched sound that is supposed to stop a dog from barking. It seems our house and our rental behind us are the only homes without dogs. The loud barking coming from our next door neighbor's dog affects us and our property behind them.

Collar can be loaded with water instead of oil.

Either way, stay of of it, let the police reports fly, and when the police ask you for info, spin a story about the cruel upstairs tenants bullying the helpless lady on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
