Hello,

I was cleaning the drawers in my vacant house.

One drawer wouldn't close correctly so I took it out.

On the back of the drawer was a tiny plastic liquid filled bottle duct taped to a 9 volt battery.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Any ideas?

My friend said to take it to the fire department or police department.

The day after I found it someone entered the house via use of a key.

The safety chain was broken that's how I knew the door had been opened.

Locks were not damaged.

The house was vacant so I don't know why the house was entered.

I asked the woman that vacated if they had given anyone a key.

She said no.

I didn't tell her why I was asking.

I would just throw it away, too.

This is why you MUST change the locks as soon as you get possession! What if they walked in on you with evil intent? --68.229.xxx.xxx

I found a large bloody carving knife in the bottom of a wall cavity. Big patch in he wall above. I called the police to see if they were interested. Not in the least. Didn’t even want the property address. --70.92.xxx.xxx

The most unusual item that I found was a complete human skeleton like they use in medical school. The former tenant was an artist who had used it for some of his drawings. --71.184.xxx.xxx

Commercial safe ... crew spent 8 hours prying it open only to find credit aps from a bankrupt store.

Contractor found a Wagner baseball card in a cigarette pack demoing a wall (not MY house). Sold it on the internet for a few hundred bucks ... idiot. --76.119.xxx.xxx

Makes ya wonder what went on that day. Was it something to shock the little kids cause this was the chocolate draw? What happened on that date on that house? --172.56.xx.xx

First, I'd wash hands a ton and then don't touch that 'item' again. Call HAZMAT or fire department. WHO takes the time to tape a battery to a bottle of liquid anything? Not normal. Could be nitro. Could be drugs. Could be a kid playing with stuff. In any case, batteries and liquid just are not the normal thing to find. I had 'bomb' training at work and we were told never to touch or move anything suspicious. What you describe is suspicious. (A fellow worker actually carried around a 'fake' bomb during our practice. We all got yelled at). Yikes! Combined with the 'break in' I'd say drugs from one of the tenants who forgot it was there. But be careful. Update if you can. Very curious! --174.65.xxx.xx

Sounds like a bad joke. Nothing connected from the battery that goes inside the bottle? No timer connected to battery? Something to scare someone. --108.24.xx.xx

Could be a kids science project or part of one. My kid has a lot of odd things with wires and batteries, etc in his closet left from science class and science fares. Toss it. --174.53.xxx.xxx
