I would assume a licensed agent and his buyers standing in the driveway were not acting like punks so the cop jumped to conclusions pretty quickly.Cop pulls in the driveway and they stand there and say hello to him,not acting suspicious i would think the cop would assume there was a misunderstanding,but apparantly not.Show a business card and maybe the ability to open the lockbox and the cop should be on his way but not in that case. I had a similar situation as Ken. Met my realtor at a roachy house in a D neighborhood. No lockbox, so my realtor pried open a window and crawled through to open a door. I was standing outside writing notes on a clipboard when a K-9 cop pulled up wanting to know what I was doing. He said that if I had not been there to explain, he would have stuffed his partner through the window and let him sort it out. Has anyone watched the video? Cops pull up without seeing any of the individuals. They get in the loud speaker and say “we know you’re in there, come out with your hands up”. I also had a remarkably similar experience with a RE agent showing me a house many years ago. A neighbor called us in to the cops while we were looking at a home for sale. But my agent was quickly prepared to show identification as an agent, and just like here, nobody was arrested, although we were also briefly detained. This is exactly what we expect from them. It sickens me so many quickly turn it in to a race thing. Also, when multiple possible suspects are involved at least one is usually going to be cuffed temporarily as a safety precaution for the officers well being. I see another thread about "burden of proof", well in a free country, the burden of proof is on the police . If someone has not broken into a house , there's no sign of forcable entry, then the police have shifted the burden onto you , the citizen, to provide proof you haven't done anything wrong.
