When working with a coil of pex tubing, after un coiling the tubing maintains the curves making it difficult to make a neat looking job.
Solution: for 3/4" pex, pull through a length of 1" conduit pipe. for 1/2" pex, pull through a length of 3/4" conduit. Voila! straight tubing. --149.76.xxx.xxx |

I used to tie it between two trees in the sun.
Now I just buy 20 foot sticks instead of coils. It's pretty rare to need more than 20 feet without a branch line anyway. The sticks look much neater and are easier to install. --69.80.xx.xxx |

In the process of changing some of copper piping in the house where will manifold a lot pex piping from two 3/4" main pex pipes to 1/2" to fixtures. Using A type pex which bends easily where considering installing a pex sprinkler system where the furnace, water heater, natural gas clothes dryer is located. A few years ago bought pro pex expansion tool where working with pex is lot safer then sweating in copper pipes as there is no flame. Often when sweating in copper pipes are close to combustable sources where have to be careful with propane torch. --99.236.xxx.xxx |

Not supposed to be in the sunshine, the UV is bad for the PEX. I often measure the distance and cut 6 inches longer, and I go thru holes or using support every 48 inches like the plumbing code calls for. The straight pieces calculate to be 20-40 cents more than spooling off from a roll, so Gevans idea makes a lot of sense (cents), and in a vertical run up a wall it would be easier.
