Bats are overtaking a back porch on a house of mine. Tons of feces on the floor. They are resting on the thinsole brick wall (fake brick used in the 60's). any proven remedies to get rid of them?

Make soup out of them. The Chinese people have several recipes. Use those grabber tongs they sell at WalMart to grab the little beasts and throw them in the soup kettle.

Also, bat guano can carry rabies, so handle with care. Even if it is dried, the dust that occurs when handled can carry it.

Also, it's an ingredient in gunpowder. During the Civil War, the tons and tons of it from Mammoth Cave were used to make gunpowder for the Union troops. --24.180.xx.xx

City or Country?

In the city, I would call an exterminator to get rid of them.

In the country, I would build a nice, cozy bat house that they will like - away from the human house. Relocate them there(somebody other than me), and you will have no problem with mosquitos. --68.229.xxx.xxx

Going through this (again) with a property in New Jersey. They are protected in NJ and I believe in PA. You need to wait until after August 15, then install exclusion nets. After a week or so, you are allowed to seal up entry points to avoid them next year. --23.30.xx.xxx

I purchased a fake electric remote control snake. Put it in a cage with live snakes at a pet store for around 1 week to get the scent of snake all over it.

Then I would attach it to the area where the Bats hang out. Hook the snake up to a motion sensor. So when the bats are within a few feet of the snake, it stats moving. That will scare the S out of them. --47.155.xx.xxx

Well they come out at night and don't like light so someone must have destroyed their original home. You can get a strobe light on Ebay and plug it in and maybe that will make them go. I read that it will get raccoons out of attics. I probably read that here. I bought one but didn't get to use it for squirrels and now my neighbor has it as a raccoon was trying to live in the porch roof. --108.24.xx.xx
