Around here (northern lower Michigan), if you can find a company to come out for under $100 per hour, you're lucky. [o;However, for the price you get a real company with experience, insurance, worker's comp and some kind of guarantee.

If you're looking for someone that does side jobs, you might expect to pay a bit less but you don't get any of the stuff a real company provides. Also, the side worker will likely want cash only.

Both, unless it it a minor problem will likely tell you that you need an entire new system (thousands of $$$).

So be careful and get some references and check them (trust but verify!)

Local companies that have been in business for years with good reputations are a good place to start. --172.58.xxx.xx

Not sure about MD but hubs was getting on the average $25 an hour five years ago before he started his own business. Those who are "helpers" were getting $17 an hour. --72.231.xxx.xx

A couple websites can assist you.

SHRM.org which stands for the Society of Human Resource Managers

and

payscale (dot) com which will give you a range of amounts for a specific zip code.

The problem is pay scales are in flux now so I am not sure how accurate much of any data will be out there. --72.23.xxx.xx
