State Specific Question About: CALIFORNIA (CA)
Good Morning All!
My renter, who has been with me for 5 years and never any problem, got married 6 months ago. She did not tell me. I found out when talking to a neighbor regarding fence repair. I did ask her about it and she said yes. My question is do I put him on the lease? Or just have a new occupancy list made ( she did have an adult daughter move out)? I think I know the answer just wanted your opinions. Thanks.
Janet

Definitely want to add him or any adult that lives in the home gets added to the lease.
I just added a daughter, yesterday and raised the rent $25.00.
More people equals more wear and tear on your rental.
Have them sign a new lease, so both are liable for rent. --173.47.xxx.xxx |

Dave, I don't get the wear and tear part. If you rent a unit, do you charge different rates for 1, 2, 3 or 4 initial tenants? I don't. So just because someone else moves in, why do you raise the rent? If you pay utilities, I get it but you said wear and tear. --72.70.xxx.xxx |
