I'm seeing long lines and little or no gas in news feeds about east coast gas stations.

Without getting political, if this isn't fixed quick, it looks to me like tenants will soon be giving no gas as an excuse to not pay. Perhaps we should think what our response to this might be especially if it spreads to trucking, and by way of that to food supplies.

Hopefully, it will be fixed soon, but you never know.

Here in northern lower Michigan, gas today is $2.98 in my town. (just filled up and got some extra--for insurance). I predict if this isn't fixed soon, prices will go up a lot as the govt may divert gas from other areas to the east.

Also, our governor is trying to shut down a major pipeline (called Line 5) which imports Canadian gas/oil/propane to millions in Michigan, Ohio and lower Canada on Wednesday (tomorrow). If this line is shut down , it will make more problems and shortages.

I'd suggest stocking up on food and essentials and gas., asap. Like today, just to be ready.

The problem with gas is that it has a short shelf life. A few months (3).

Where does your governor invest his/her money? That could be your answer.

I would think it best for us to learn to grow and can our own food.

Learn to live a simpler life and make your own everything.

I don't think any of this is or has been coincidence. --73.120.xx.xxx

Here we are paying around $1.30 per litre where by multiplying out by 3.78 litres per Us gallon that is lot higher then gasoline in the Us. There is 4.4 cent price of the carbon tax on every litre of gasoline as well. If the pipeline will be shut down that is going to effect the refineries in Sarnia as well. --99.236.xxx.xxx

I don't take any of this as simple coincidence. I see it as pre-planned absorption of the falling dollar. We have to absorb all this currency somehow. Virus panic buying, Suez Canal, gas shortages. I find it all way too coincidental. Once it all shakes out, I think we'll be used to paying much more for everything and we're right back to where we were. --70.44.xxx.xx

My son works for Koch, who owns the pipeline. They shut it down preemptively because of ransomware and will be bringing it back online shortly. Stop panicking and go do some maintenance inspections. That will be far more productive. --104.230.xxx.xx

6 by 6 - I run no ethanol gas in my mowers. I pay a little more but got tired of carb problems from ethanol gas breaking down. I buy 15 gallons of no ethanol gas once a year and store it in STEEL Justrite safety cans. I also add Stabil, although that may not be absolutely necessary. I have kept stabilized no ethanol gas for 2 years with no apparent problems. I am not sure about using Stabil in a modern car with all the emissions stuff.

I bet gas stations still have no ethanol if you want to stock up. The steel safety cans are pricey but you only buy them once. --157.204.xxx.xxx

I already got my first fill of year. Premium gas no ethanol. I usually get my 2nd fill in August and it runs until early november when it becomes too cold to store gas as it gets condensation and water. Gas does not store well no matter what additives you use.. I have a farm and need gas in bulk. Lp gas I always keep at least a year in storage, and a full tank for generator. LP stores very well. Kerosene stores well and I keep a barrel for lighting in winter when my energy runs low. Diesel is best to get as needed but it does store well and I keep a 300 gallon tank for it. I only use diesel for my tractors. --216.23.xxx.xx

Ottawa will fight this in court as the pipeline is a major part of the infrastructure that supplies energy to the oil refineries in Sarnia. While the fringe environmental groups here no matter the hardship then shut every down where the natural gas pipelines in the future can be used for hydrogen which can be used for heating and running internal combustion engines. In order to transition to green energy you have to use the existing energy infrastructure along with have a economy that functions. China solution to global warming is they built many polluting coal fired generating stations along with a plan by 2060 which means very little is going to be done. If dug deep enough would hit the earth core where would be able to put pipes down then the steam would be used for a electrical generating plant along for heating a town or city. If they shut down oil in North America that would not reduce global warning as long as China does nothing. If the economy is completely ruined in the process then what. If more electric cars are going to used then there has to be more electrical generation for home use and charging stations where natural gas turbine generation is used. Without infrastructure that is not going to happen. --99.236.xxx.xxx

If the present administration keeps shutting down the present energy infrastructure then the cost of living is going to increase as this is going to cause energy poverty where filling up a tank of gas is going to cost well over a hundred dollars and beyond. Shutting down a existing pipeline is going to have detrimental effects on both sides of the border along killing off many well paying jobs. Energy cooperation between the two countries is going to come to a end. Aero fuel is supplied to major airports, natural gas along energy for a few states. No one is against the transition to other energy sources where China has chosen dirty polluting coal fired generating stations where if one sees the pictures of the pollution in major in China. In the meantime we are going to look the other way when they import goods from a country that is refusing to reduce green house gases where 2060 is a lie where other countries are doing more. The grid is not going to be able handle the load if more houses install charging stations. I remember the time they voted for the socialist democratic party in the province where they were determined to bankrupt all the private sector rental housing providers where there were penalties for energy conservation where jobs were killed off immediately. Tenants who became unemployed voted them out. If history repeats it is going to be a one up government who so far from reality by listening to fringe groups. --99.236.xxx.xxx

We're in southeastern PA, 30 miles north of Philadelphia. I was out all morning shopping. Saw no gas stations that were closed. The cheapest one had longer lines than usual. The others? Maybe a car waiting at each pump. Gas is around $3.05, up 8 cents this week.

Still, I filled up the car and a 5 gallon can because we needed it. --172.58.xxx.xx

NO GAS LINES HERE. We have storage tanks in N. Jersey that are full to the top. Someone is playing a game here. I don't believe a hacker did this. I think the admin did this to try and push cyber security in their huge infrastructure bill. It was just too much of a coincidence to see B the other day smiling as if he knew something was up and talking about cybersecurity and the next day there is a problem. I read that a block of data was taken from Colonial and they acted on that and shut it down. I keep reading that the hacker was commenting to the press and I don't think that happens. I think this was a move to get people thinking about solar and wind but it's not safe as the sun is not stable now or ever. Must be underground energy. --108.24.xx.xx
