What's the shortest term you would accept. I got someone looking for 6 months. Ideally I prefer, 1 year or more

I have a military training program nearby that lasts for six months. For those, I'll do a six month lease for a 20% premium (as long as it doesn't leave me with a winter vacancy). --73.177.xxx.xx

Sometimes I'll get people working on utilities. Some of them are here for a year or two; others are just here for a few months. I'll rent to them, especially if it helps me bridge a sparse season, or if I'm not getting anyone I like. I raise my rents at turnover, so sometimes it's a nice excuse to take a place off the market and try again later.

See if you can find out what the apt. complexes in your area charge for anything less than one year. Here, there is an increase over the base rate for 6 months and it is a SIGNIFICANT bump for month to month. --72.70.xxx.xx

During the winter if I had no other prospects, I might consider it. Heading into summer, no. --75.67.xxx.xxx

It depends on the unit.

I've started doing the travel nurse thing. I get requests as short as 6 weeks. Those are spaces that I've furnished and pay utilities for, though. Think AirBnB nearly.

Otherwise, it depends. Will I be able to rent it at the end of the requested period? Do I pay heat normally or do they? If I do anyway, the no big deal since I'll pay the heat anyway occupied or not.

If they move in now, that means vacating in October, and I can advertise it as "Enjoy the Holidays in your new home!" to get someone in early November.

I would definitely charge a premium for the short rental term. --67.43.xxx.xxx
