One of my sons went through a bad time a few years ago - anxiety and depression after graduating from college and finding he hated the profession he had trained for.

I was really concerned (it was bad) and pushed and paid for him to go to TM classes.

What a transformation! It helped him fully recover, he ended up volunteering to help others, life was good again, etc.

I know this was a huge thing back in my day (Beatles!) but he said his class was FULL of people his age (not yet 30 at the time) who were really struggling.

Has anyone here ever done it? I keep thinking I should take the classes since I pushed him to do it.

Once upon a time - I was cool.

Guess since I am not into dope or CBD - I am not.

Since I've had some spare time this past year, I signed up at PennState for some type adult enrichment classes. I signed up for a couple things, for lack of a better phrase, to put me in touch with my feelings. This just wasn't for me. I didn't even finish most of them although I tried.

I find that what helps me with my depression is doing manual labor.

In the late '60s, early '70s, I used to practice TM and yoga. They complimented each other. It has been many years and I am no longer as limber as I should be. It is long past time I started exercising again, but I will probably resume stretching, calistenics (sp?) and martial arts instead of yoga. I do release some stress through deep breathing, still.

A hard workout is very cleansing of my mind, and I do not see any TM in my future.

Met separately w everyone to get them started and give them their own private mantra. Since I was little my meditation was spinning in circles. As an adult I realize whirling dervishes do the same thing. I also learned as an adult that everyone in my family fit the same mantra, lol.

First thought was Time and Material.

The "Perfect Master" was Guru Maharaj Ji.

Trancendental meditation made the 16 year old extremely wealthy.

J FL. No I have never done a palm reading. I did read a book about it. What happens is I start talking to some stranger for some reason and I start getting messages for them from one of their dead relatives. And I give them the message.

Or I will be walking around outside or doing some peaceful activity and someone will come along and tell me for examples that have happened: someone is going to bomb us and the World trade center is going to fall down, or there are too many chinese and we have to stop them from coming here, or President T will win the election but there will be shenanigans and he will have to go to court to get back in.

Mine is prayer - knowing and listening to a higher authority.

The more I study the Bible and learn, the more life makes sense and reduces my anxiety and fears.

God's in charge, loves me, knows every hair on my head every struggle, and has Heaven ready for me.

Interesting that as fewer and fewer young people attend church the more they struggle.

J, FL, I don't think I can "perform on command". I would get very nervous if I had to come up with something and someone was paying. I used to do readings for free on a site where psychics could practice. Couple of people wanted to know who murdered their friends. I then get to "see" the event. Women would ask me about their dead husbands. So I started doing card readings but for the dead guy. Got some really unusual results. One guy played guitar and a guitar here in a cabinet started playing itself. I think that's when I stopped doing those. Another time I was doing the card reading and the tv was on. I saw a white light go across the room and shut the tv off.

I am with Brad on this one.

I give all my problems to God and he has those completely under control. His gentle hand constantly moves me forward with the command of keep moving Jim.
