Hello fellow LL,
I'm trying to refinance my house and rental properties in the US. In the past few years, I've been working out of state a lot and exchanged my Illinois driver's license to the new state driver's license. I plan to exchange it back to IL driver's license when I'm done with work. Do you know if lenders would have problems with my out of state DL? I wonder if I could use my US passport which doesn't have any address. Please share your experience/thoughts. Thanks.

Why not ask the loan officer you are working with? Transparency is usually the best policy. --98.174.xxx.xxx |

razorback_tim [AR], thanks for your reply. I agreed. I just asked my loan officer. He said to use my US passport instead of DL. --99.128.xxx.xxx |

As long that you prove who you are, the bank should be more concerned about WHERE the colleterial is located at. Will there be an issue you convincing a notary who you are? I wouldn't think so - but I am not a notary either
In this day and age, ID is a hot topic in society. I am out in the sticks so I don't fully understand it. I needed a photo ID to buy a fishing license.
An important take away - be consistent as a LL or a banker. If you think the bank is being unfair on the receiving side, then we as LLs should consider that standard as unfair as we dish it out --24.154.xx.x |
