I am always looking for a way to make

A buck on my escrow monies I save monthly for the end of year taxes. I have stumbled across citi bank offering a $700 bonus if you open a new account and fund it with non citi money. You only need to fund it with

50k. Let it sit there 60 days and they will credit you $700. Last year I did this with cap one 360, but they only paid $450. If anyone has any interest, just google

Citi bank bonus and you should be able to find it. Much better return than the 3/10 of one percent most banks are paying. --66.169.xxx.xxx

Thanks...that might cover my annual beer bill! ;-)

Hey, free money. If it's easy to set up online and do e-transfers, I'll give it a shot. --107.216.xxx.xxx

Sid, you can’t beat free beer money. :)

I signed up this morning, only took about 15 minutes, but they have to go through the account verification from where you are pulling the money, by them making those two deposits, which I bet will take a couple days. I don’t mind the wait. My escrow money has to sit somewhere, may as well get that bonus. Lol --66.169.xxx.xxx

Homer,

Where does your escrow money actually come from? I think I already know but I would rather hear it from you. --68.63.xxx.xxx

Roy, when I started buying houses, I had to leverage heavily. We didn’t have $5k houses in my area. My banks allowed me escrow my own money for taxes and insurance instead of them doing it, I wanted to be in control of it since it’s a great deal of money. So where

Does the

Money come from? It comes monthly from my tenants. When they pay rent. I save $9000 per month In order to have enough to pay each December. I wish our tax rate was closer to what the great state of Alabama has, but it is what it is.

I have done this for years upon years with different banks, different credit cards, etc. I found my fave bank doing it, and still use other banks.

Thanks for the info, I haven't had a Citi account yet! --75.11.xx.xx

So do you just leave it in the 2 months? Cost is $30/mo to maintain.... so you actually net 640. --174.228.xx.xxx

T, if you keep a minimum balance of $50k, the monthly maintenance fee of $30 is waived. I’ll let it sit there till December , when it’s time to pay property taxes. At that time I will close the account. --66.169.xxx.xxx
