Hi folks. I saw the very nice post inquiring to my whereabouts. Thank you for your concerns. Sorry for the delayed reply we've had a lot going on. I'm still above ground, still in remission. I haven't caught the "Vid" and we just did a RE deal. Not being a landlord anymore I haven't had much to add to the conversation, and social media was making me mean and unproductive. Nice to see some old friends are still here.

I've felt bad for you guys with the government stripping of LL rights and the financial impacts of all this. My hat's off to your patience. I had some sellers remorse after selling our rentals as rents went up right afterward. But then covid came along and I was like, "Thank you lord for saving me from this nightmare!"

So, the news:

We went car crazy last year. Our problems started in Vegas... We were looking for a sensible, practical, late model work truck to replace my rental. And... we drove home in a bright Red 2010 Corvette with 19,000 original miles! We eventually found a truck but it's too pretty for work. Please wave if you see me panhandling for gas money at Walmart.

We haven't done much traveling. Covid canceled our bucket list trip to Hawaii and Asia last summer. We're only a couple hours from Sedona, so that's been our get-away spot. Just us and a zillion tourists from Phoenix. Hopefully this summer we will get some time at the beach.

We are still living in our house on the hill. Just haven't found a place we'd rather live that isn't stupid expensive, socially bereft or lacking medical care. We still have our shop building. My spouse is working remotely so having the office is nice. Eventually we will repurpose it, again.

Prices down in the the trailer ghetto have risen to where it's worth doing infill projects again. There are numerous empty lots where old trailers have been removed. We bought several back in 2010/11 and are installing new manufactured homes on them. The installation company does most of the work, from permits to hook ups. I'm hoping to buy more lots as long as the numbers work.

Well that's the short version. We're just living life and trying to get by, like everyone else. Hope you all stay well, and solvent in these trying times. I'll check in from time to time. --47.216.xx.xxx

Good to hear from you.

Collectively we were worried about you. We know you have had some health challenges and with all this C-19 crap going on, the group was asking a couple of times.

What are you doing now a days without the rentals tying you down at all? Covid has put a damper on so many things.

I am planning a few road trips starting on mid May.

Take care! --24.154.xx.x

What is it about a Corvette that seduces otherwise smart people into becoming complete idiots in buying one? Corvettes are the most overpriced vehicle on the road but that does not stop people from buying them. I do realize that life is short and we all have our vices, but still,...why a Corvette?

And a Vette! Boy howdy. I'm with Roy to an extent, but man those cars are sexy. An American sports car legend!

P.S. My wife wants one. Don't have anywhere to put it at the moment. So now she also wants a 3 car garage so we have somewhere to put the Corvette we don't have yet. (*grins) --107.216.xxx.xxx

LTD,

I forgot to say that is good to have you back here. And I can say something positive about a Corvette, especially a red shiny one. A couple of months ago, I sitting in my beat-up 2006 Silverado truck waiting for the street light to change. In front of me was a brand new shiny RED Corvette and with a custom license plate that read: 2HOT4U

I have to admit, at that moment, I wanted that Corvette with that license plate on it!!!

Wow! I am overwhelmed. Wasn't expecting to hear from so many old friends. Thank you all for your very nice comments. :)

BRAD 20,000 - Thank you, I've always appreciated your knowledge and advice. When we were buying the Corvette I was thinking, "Well Brad has TWO Porsches, he'll approve!" I think Dave Ramsey would too. LOL

Roy old friend, hope you are well. The Vette is mainly my wife's car, she fell in love with it at first sight. She works so hard and is so good to me. We only paid $22k for basically a brand new car. It's the base version, the Z06 is the pricey model. My daily driver is still my old rice rocket Mitsubishi. We also have '99 project Jeep. Told you, I went car crazy. LOL What I really "need" now is a Tesla, and a work truck that I can actually use for work... :D

Sid - nice to hear from you. You definately want a garage first. The paint and plastic on my Mitsi is ruined from the sun. Be sure you are able to crawl in and out of it before you buy. LOL My crux in life is buying cars that are either so high or low you need oxygen or a shoe horn. Nice thing about a corvette, valets park them right in front! So no waiting. LOL

Still Learning - I got a folding shovel... :D

Ally - thank you for checking on me. You are a nice and wise person. I have a friend who is sort of a "shaman." He's part Navajo and very in tune with nature and the balance of life. I enjiy and appreciate your comments on things. We've explored a number of Anastasi and Shinagua ruins over the years and I'm trying to understand the old ways more.

Ray n Pa - hi, thanks for your kind comment. We are hoping to get away from the heat, at least for part of the summer. I'd like to visit the beach and go sailing. I'm trying not to put "important" things off anymore, like listening to the wind, or enjoying a mountain view. But we are also trying to cash out these lots and my spouse has a full time job. So it's a bit of a juggle.

For Ken and Jean. I think I finally found my true calling with the mobiles. Mainly I get to drive around in my fancy truck, bark orders and buy stuff. :D

We had 4 lots. We bought three 1 bdrm park models from Fleetwood on a factory close out. We have a three bedrm singlewide for June delivery. The first two sold as soon as we placed them. The current one we are setting next week. In AZ you need a licensed installer, but they do most of the work from permitting to hook ups. The monkey wrench is the lots we paid $2-3,000 for ten years ago are now worth $6-8,000. But now folks think they are worth $35,000. That and the cost of manufactured homes is skyrocketing, so I don't know how sustainsble this is.

Jim in OC - LOL. I still have a few of those key chains!

And whoever asked - yes, we got our first vaccines a couple weeks ago. But with my cancer I was wearing masks in crowded places two years before covid. So nothing really changed for us.

We both learned to cook this last year. We used to eat out all the time. Our food costs were like $1,500+ a month. Since covid we got out my grandmother's recipies and my mom's cookbooks and we try something new every week. Some of it is even edible.

I also lost 300 pounds this year!! Yup, lost the same 3 lbs, 100 times... sigh.

I hope as a world we can cooperate and get this under control for the benefit of all mankind.

Gene, Plenty, Richard, Wilma, WMH, Jim, J, James, Laura, small potatoes, JB, RB, Steve and anyone I missed. Thank you, you are all awesome.

It's great to hear from you, LTD, and thank you so much for your ever clearly written and engaging posts. Many were worried about you, and it's a relief to hear that you're ok and enjoying a myriad of gorgeous vehicles and the challenge of some new projects.
