Anyone else here own this? I actually think HD is a better store but I bought the Lowes stock because it was claimed it has more room to grow than HD.
Now Lowes beat earnings but the stock is tanking today?

Rule #1 for stocks. Do not check them every day. Unless you're a day trader, in which case who cares about fundamentals like earnings, P/E ratios, etc.
One reason why I like REI is that I can "set it and forget it." Values in my area do go up and down, but typically over several months vs. day to day.
As far as the stock market, I own a basket of mutual funds that over time have typically outperformed the S&P 500 and are invested in over 70 companies for each fund. Thus, if one or two (or 10) companies go to crap...I'm still okay. 20 years been following this strategy and it hasn't failed me yet.
So yes, I own some Lowes, and some Home Depot. They're both in the Vanguard ETF I own, and also in some of my American Funds. Diversity and move on.

I am not buying anymore, but I'm going to hold onto what I have. I have a feeling it will come back. --72.188.xxx.xxx |

You had me checking the price. Tanking? And it's at $162? I guess it depends when you bought it. Back in March or April, one of my investment newsletters said to buy Lowe's stock. It was around $97. I wish I bought some. --68.0.xxx.xx |

And Boeing went way up right after one of their planes lost parts of an engine and was a firey whirlagig. Stocks make no sense at times. --69.160.xxx.xxx |

Lucy: Probably because Boeing doesn't make that engine. The plane actually did very well with an engine on fire. Pratt & Whitney make the engine and they are owned by a different company.
