Alert!, Alert! I've just noticed small bunches of pre-teen girls in green uniforms with darker green sashes with some sort of "merit" badges committing unreasonable begging. They have been out in cold weather, and damp weather, wearing those odd green outfits. This usually starts out with big eyes becoming wider ,a slight tilt of the head, and a big smile with a young voice pleading "Would you like to buy some of our cookies; pretty, pretty, please, kind mister, sir!!

Beware, it's $5.00 (American, they don't take Canadian) I've never seen a $20 bill get sucked in to a battered, carboard box in my life!

Beware ;)

I told one once, "Sorry I'm diabetic, can't eat cookies!" and she said, without a pause, "That's okay, you can buy some and don't have to take them. We'll sell them again to someone else." --50.82.xxx.xxx

So far I've been shaken down to the tune of $175.00 & haven't even had a bite of even one cookie. I just tell them to either donate them to someone they know might enjoy them or drop off at the local senior center. --71.174.xxx.xx

Sid is the man I'd be fightin' with. Trouble with Tagalongs is how few there are in the box. And if (actually when) you order four boxes, what does it matter if you eat them in one day or spread them out over several weeks (which is scientifically impossible) - you get the same calories/sugar/fat content.

I will say that I have not seen a girl at my door in uniform for probably 30 years. I always need to order from an adult. Last year, they actually came from my son-in-law's cousin's kid ... in Georgia - apparently shipped directly from somewhere at no additional cost.

I am now getting on the phone to see when my delivery is scheduled ... so I can plan accordingly. --72.70.xxx.xxx

I just recently learned that the name of the cookie depends on where you are at as there are two producers of these cookies. There is only one cookie that is known nationally by one name - the thin mint.

I don't think I have got Covid-19 thus far, but I am suffering from the COVID-10.

My only question is why does cookie season have to Feb to April? In Pa Cookie season is only behind deer season in popularity.....and that might change depending who you ask --24.154.xx.x

I would imagine that the rise in front porch package thieves across the country is directly related to cookie deliveries. I mean, for a Samoa? I might! --70.44.xxx.xx

No Bill, that "equal" stuff only works in one direction. Think more along the lines of "greater than/less than" instead of equal.

Basically like, you share your cookies with me, but I'm not sharing mine with you. --70.44.xxx.xx

I don't share mine with anyone.

First thing kids and grandkids do when entering my home is look in the refrigerator. Second thing is open the cupboard beside the oven where junk food is.

IF and it's a big IF there would be any girl scout cookies not eaten the first day (by me !) they would be hidden in a spot no one would think to look for them. Second day, it wouldn't matter. --72.70.xxx.xxx

Why buy overpriced cookies when you can get virtually the same cookie in the grocery aisle? Hubby loves Samoas - Keebler makes Coconut Dreams. I love Thin Mints - Keebler makes Grasshoppers. The original girl scout shortbread cookie? Several brands make something just as good. All for much less $!

Oh, I always give the girls who are a donation, as I sold those cookies myself years ago (when they were 50 cents, so that really dates me). --96.245.xx.xx
