I've bought and installed a couple cases of CFG kitchen faucets. They are builder grade made by moen. I'm getting to the point I'm replacing them now after 5 - 10 years. How long does a kitchen faucet last for you in a rental?

What brands are you having the best luck with.

I've came to the conclusion that cheap faucets are expensive overall, and risk water damage/flooding. This came from trying a few cheap ones and I settled on CFG. These take moen parts directly and run about 50 to 75 a faucets.

With so many h-depots and Lowes around I keep one on my maintenance van. Kitchen -- with and without sprayer and one bath. We don't repair faucets unless its a bad sprayer hose on kitchen.

We pay about 38.00 per for bath and 59 for kitchen. --99.103.xxx.xxx

The quality of your water has a lot to do with the life expectancy of faucets, mixing valves & toilet flush mechanisms. Since we stopped using washer style faucets & switched to ones with ceramic discs ours have been lasting 10+ years without having to touch them. I have been buying Symonds brand faucets & mixing valves through my local supply house for my own properties. --71.174.xxx.xx

As a licensed plumbing contractor, I'm saddened that no longer does a manufacture have to manufacture parts for their faucets for the next 20, 40 or 60 years. They can stop production of parts any time they please.

So only the big boys such as Moen, Chicago, Pfister, American Standard, etc will make parts for years after a model has been discontinued because their products were built to last decades.

Un like the Home Depot or Lowe's Special, purchased by the container and once sold, forget about parts! --47.155.xx.xxx

My preference is the old fashioned faucets with washers. It takes seconds to change the washer, and all done for a couple more years. It's not much harder to change the washer seat (if you can find one to fit)

I've had perfectly good service from Glacier Bay. Although I decided to upgrade and bought one of the name brands. Got it to the rental and unpacked it, and it was all made of plastic. I don't see any advantage to paying substantially more for a plastic faucet. --76.178.xxx.xxx

We have some old Kohler's still in a couple units that are going strong but hard to come by the old Kohler parts so we are replacing with. We are replacing with Moen and Delta. We will use the same replacement tub, shower and sink faucets so we can keep parts in stock that will fit all. --75.11.xx.xx

Somewhere on these boards, Brad once recommended Pfister. So we started buying Pfister and have had no problems. I don't remember the details, but you could probably find his reasons for recommending Pfister with a search. (I also don't remember if these have ceramic discs.) --71.246.xxx.xxx

Builders line of faucets last the warranty or longer on the house where the builder no longer has to provide warranty. Big box stores carry a lower line of faucets then the plumbing supply outlets as there is difference in quality. Commercial grade is the best option for rentals where more expensive upfront where will last longer. Commercial grade one and two locks take the abuse along with last longer. Commercial grade porcelain tiles outlast domestic flooring. It is better to use the same brand of faucets for all the rentals then stock replacement parts then if a faucet breaks on a Sunday parts can be swapped out. --99.236.xxx.xxx

James,

I think I've used every brand over the years. A sales rep convinced me to try Pfister.

We have installed a TON of them without a single call back over several years.

I don't once that's easy to work on, I want one that never needs work!

One key to FREEDOM!!! is to use materials that do not need repair/rebuild.

Faucets are a high use item with high service needs so never scrimp on price. I pay about $20 extra for Pfister but that's cheaper than ONE service call or upset resident because her water bill went up due to dripping.

Pfister single handle. Nothing else for me. The brushed nickel finish resists water spots in our hard water.

Brad, no issues w spray nozzles?

OP, I just replaced a failed delta foundations faucet that developed a hole in the arm by the spout. Lasted 4 years. Have had 2 others fail. Was buying box store delta after someone here recommended delta because they stand behind their product. Wrong move. Plumbing supply is half hour away so I don't find myself headed that way.

Why not get more of what you have? I'd there something lacking about them? --172.58.xx.xxx
