It's been a while since I've seen this discussed. Suspected domestic violence and asked couple to leave. She left the middle of December. He stayed & has paid January. The receipt was in her name, not sure if he furnished any of the money, possibly did. She claims to be gone, however, the lights are still in her name and she never returned the key to me. So, technically, even though she thinks she has met the criteria for vacating, she hasn't.
I just don't want the 45 days to pass & I not legally give her an accounting. --71.219.xx.xxx |

Any deposit money that is returned should be paid by check to all parties who signed the rental agreement. The same is true for any bill for damages beyond the SD.

I generally agree that it stays until the end.
What is "suspected" domestic violence? The police and the courts either say it is or it isn't. If it is, I believe most states have separate laws so check into that.
If it's just her saying so, deposit remains intact until they both are gone and have returned possession to you. --72.70.xxx.xxx |

Also, seldom do people receive a full refund, esp when there are stressful situations in the home. I don't picture this guy leaving a super clean house.
I charge full full full retail for cleaning and repairs.
$50/hour
$275 to repaint a room
$25-50 replace mini blinds
