When using the aerosol ceiling texture products, Before use, put can under faucet running hot water for 2+ minutes, then shake can extensively.
Resulting in texture that sprays with more pressure and sprays thinner, allowing for more control to match existing ceiling texture.
This tip from a contractor who has always impressed with his ability to match textures.

Although I don't do textured ceilings, that's a great tip if it works...we need more of these kinds of tips.
Here's one for you...I always had trouble finding the right kind of tape when I was on a job..I have masking tape, duct tape, exterior Tyvek tape, blue painters tape in a few widths, duct tape, and so on. So I made a "jig" that holds all of them at once. Use PVC pipe that fits inside the rolls, then make a wood frame with two plywood ends, use jigsaw to cut holes in each end for the pipe, buy two PVC caps for the ends to keep the pipe from sliding out, and mount all the roles on one jig.
I will attempt to post a few photos of mine...not done that before. --99.92.xxx.xxx |

won't let me post pictures, says my flash player is out of date, yet I've updated it and even Macromedia website says they discontinued Flash support as of 1/1/21 and recommend removing it.
Anyone else having issues?

Sisco,
Interesting tip.
Reminds me of a helper on a ladder with one of those UP SHOT style texture spray cans when they first came out. What a great idea!
The defective nozzle broke on the first push and the texture blasted everywhere - 4 walls, the floor, and him. NOTHING on the ceiling!

Its funny you mention this Sisco...just last week I was texturing new walls in a very small room with the Homax cans...some online were complaining about the product and it was advised to soak the can in hot water first to break the stuff up. --72.188.xxx.xxx |
