I was reading an earlier posting asking about assistance for owners of College Rentals. I wasn't aware of any assistance programs that could help out the students -which in turn assist the landlord.
I was stumped.
Then a light bulb went off - do you suppose there are others like him who would be ideal motivated sellers? Around me student housing tends to be larger Victorian style houses. What would be some other niches and uses for a large old home?
I suppose I convert in to MFH.
I would love to hear your ideas. I have some spare 1031 money that I can reinvest into the market place - or I can act like an irresponsible tenant and get a bigger TV that I will not watch that much. New England has a lot of older homes. Depending on location and zoning, I have seen large old Victorians and colonials converted into lawyers offices, day spa/salon, bed and breakfast, restaurant, joint office space with a shared receptionist, and doctors offices. --73.17.xx.xxx |

I stopped doing college rentals. Still getting calls from college kids who want to live off campus. There is still a demand and I it will increase once the vaccine is more widely distributed. Colleges will be “ in person learning” again, but I think kids will be less likely to want to live in the dorms. I may be going back to college rentals- they are not a bad option now that the eviction moratorium is stretched to infinity and beyond. --75.133.xxx.xx |

Nothing like a wedding in the parlour of a large old Virginia home. Parents had theirs in monstrous house mom grew up in. Aunt & Uncle married in an old Virginia home. I was flower girl and it was like a dream come true. Flowers and fireflies in the gardens outside. Two different rooms adjacent to the parlour for dinner and dancing. Upstairs several rooms for guests to rent and for bride and bridesmaids to congregate while getting ready.
Or how bout a bed and breakfast? Ok, you say, too handson. You could rent the place out for weddings and have the couple bring in their own wedding planner to put things together. Kind of like a hall, or a barn wedding...only in a big beautiful Victorian or lush old home. --198.54.xxx.xxx |
