State Specific Question About: CLICK TO SELECT STATE

Hi All, I see that Biden is attempting to ban evictions through September 2021. Has anyone found out the fine-print on this?

They seem to think that landlords will simply keep people for free, SMH! --34.86.xx.xx

You haven't been keeping up. 25B allocated to rental assistance in FY2021/Covid bill and another 25B in this proposed plan plus 5B in utility assistance that would include eviction bans until Sept 2021. Is it enough to keep everyone whole? Nope. Will it help soften the impact? Yes. --74.83.xx.xxx

JAC,

They had similar funds prior but the "fine print" defiantly left many normal renters out of that money. I have 1 tenant now that i was able to finally evict. He is a server and he didn't meet the guidelines to get money. My guess is that this 25B will be for people that are unemployed. Not for people that have their funds reduced.

In the end, its the landlords that will get screwed but I am trying to see if anyone has seen the fine print. --34.86.xx.xx

Two months went by a rental complex where seen a LG plasma tv in front of the building where came back later then brought home. Plugged in where expected a problem where tv powered up no problems. Since having other flat screens gave to friend where bought a after market remote control. You can sure since tenant was not paying rent they bought a new larger big screen tv. The problem is not everyone is unemployed where they were told they can continue not to pay rent where the rent arrears are adding up to substantial amounts. This free for all is causing the economy to go into a depression where rental housing providers buy goods and services locally. If they told grocery to provide free food a week later the grocery store would close down throwing out workers. This free for all is unconstitutional where if goes to the supreme court then that needs to happen. They would treat any other business in the manner. Reactionaries do not even represent 0.01 per cent of the population where if you turned over a few buildings to them in six months they would be bankrupt. Economic recovery should be the priority for every government not reactionaries. Send some the reactionaries to island of Socialist paradise to show them they free rent where a lot housing is deteriorating along socialism does not work anywhere in the world. On the revolutionary posters in Spanish translated to English Socialism or death. Hey the Bolsheviks had collective farms where people did not have enough food except the party members who lived like kings. Now is the time to start to talk to the media where open them to reality of the extreme left. --99.236.xxx.xxx

Does this "rental assistance" money go directly to the landlord? If not, what's to keep the tenants from pocketing it and still not paying rent? --72.188.xxx.xxx

B is raising minimum wage on the same bill that is handing out $1,400 for all. That usually results in about a third of the workforce losing their jobs. NP did that 3 times during the mortgage crisis that took down the economy in 2008. Her credit less mortgage recipients couldn't pay so she raised their minimum wage and they all got fired! Two or three family members with minimum wage jobs were making the mortgage payments. When she raised it they got fired and no one could make any mortgage payments. Whole host of behind the scenes costs go up with a minimum wage raise. --71.104.xx.xxx

the true loser tenants wont even apply for anything... too much work; they know they cant be evicted for another year with the backlog once/if they have to go to court. they will lie about being impacted too; i work with the public daily in and they blame covid for EVERYTHING;

they are giving out $1400, they are raising unemployment benefits, yet we cant evict; most ridiculous nonsense ever. --99.92.xx.xx

At last I heard, currently Landlords are owed 75 billion dollars. That is -

$75,000,000,000

So far about $25 Billion has been allocated, there is $50 billion that we are suppose to float since the start of the pandemic. Since this has been going on for 9 months, and they are wanting to carry it forward 9 more months with another $25 billion - 100 billion is coming out of someone's tax return. YOURS, MINE and the person you met at the convention in 2019.

Great news is the folks who are reading from this site tend to be some of the cutting edge leaders in the field. I don't think you are being impacted as bad others are.

Does it make this cra p sandwich taste any better? Nope. Just understand that we are riding this out much better than most tenants are. We have assets that are appreciating. I just read where the average home in America gained $17,000 in equity in the Q3 of 2020. Where I am at, it isn't that good - but we are gaining where others are getting wiped out completely. Most of them are labeled as renters --24.101.xxx.xx

Sorry Ray, doesn’t make me feel a tiny bit better about being a potential victim of such a massive government overreach. I just can’t get on the bandwagon of it’s all ok because you’re not as bad off as someone else.

There will always be people better or worse off than other people. Kind of makes me imagine telling someone who child died to look on the bright side, they have other children, the Jones Family lost a child too but they only had one. So you still have more than they do. Don’t you feel better now. --216.186.xxx.xx
