State Specific Question About: NEW HAMPSHIRE (NH)

Hello everyone,

This is a question specific to New Hampshire residents/ landlords or people familiar with the rental/ landlord laws. Can anyone suggest a good attorney of some sort that I could have write up my lease agreement to ensure I protect myself the best I can? Also if you would be willing to share how much you paid for your attorney to write up your lease/ rental agreement with me, I would appreciate it greatly. Any and all information you give me is beyond appreciated as I am a soon to be first time Landlord. --73.47.xxx.xx

I would suggestion you create your own so as to cover everything you want to clarify in your lease arrangement. I started with NC Realtor's standard residential lease and then added to it with many suggestions from this forum.

Go to your local real estate agent and ask them for their standard NH residential lease agreement. I'd start there because I am sure they have already vetted it with their legal advisors. You can always show it to your lawyer and have him/her look it over.

Hi

I got my hands on some leases from local apt complex's. If I were to do mine again I would get some from local mgmt companies too. I have heard of some that are amazingly one sided (for the landlord). I would very highly recommend those ones to protect yourself. Better to have you in a powerful legal position if there is a problem. Also once you get a lease put together you should have a RE attorney review it. You want to make sure it is legal (especially because they will not be happy representing you if they are uncomfortable with your lease and you need to go to court) It would be good for you to type it up too as then you will be forced to become intimately familiar with it. That is how I made mine and I have tweaked it out over the years. --75.67.xxx.xxx
