This lasted apartment seeker is a real treat. She needs to move in IMMEDIATELY. Of course I want to know what the rush is? She flat out tells me that she called the health inspector to turn in her landlord for code violations and things went very bad. She says that landlord is refusing to fix violations and has instead chosen to have the home condemned. Now the inspector has informed her she must leave. There’s some karma. When I asked another one if they were up to date on rent, the response was” You can’t ask that because of the eviction moratorium “. This just keeps getting better.

What will they do when no more rentals are available? Be sure you put her in "the lap of luxury" as she feels she deserves it. I sure you will let her go down the road. --75.138.xxx.xxx

Rules had the greatest of intentions initially.

Now the rules that were designed to help these your applicants seem to be back firing. The saddest part, they don't see why.

I would have let the bell come home though and would have asked, will your current AND PREVIOUS Landlords give a favorable recommendation about you personally. If the answer is no - who is to blame?

Of course this too is a two street for the LL too, so treat your customers with respect. --24.101.xxx.xx

Isn't the eviction momoratorium ended in MA now? Not that most courts are taking evictions yet,..but I don't think that it restricts you from asking,.. --66.30.xx.xxx

Or ... they're typing it.

Received text message at 8:20 pm this past Tuesday.

'Hi, we're here'.

Hello .. who are you and where is here?

'Hi, it's me, potential tenant - why are you late?'

Hello, late for what ... I've never spoken with you.

'Well ... do you want to rent your place or not?'

Hello me, what is your name / how many people / any pets?

'You ask to many questions'

Oh, okay. Goodnight.

*

I'm thinking to myself ... what a weirdo!!

I receive a text 2 days later telling me to eat shissh and die.

*

I sarcastically reply: 'Please accept my apoligy. I am not accustomed to receiving texts from complete strangers at 8:20 pm, therefore ... I have decided to work on my people skills. I trust you found a place that will better serve your needs' take care.

*

Wow, hopefully they did nothing to the building! Someone sprayed graffiti all over one of our 2 car garage doors who was obviously upset with us. (Not a tenant) --186.233.xxx.xx

Right away is like handing the keys through the gates of hell which means no credit check. Often they unpaid utilities where unpaid utilities and unpaid rent go hand in hand together. Now as evictions are more difficult then a score of seven hundred and above becomes the norm. Often when they get a rentals applications they never come back as they know they already will not qualify as no one is going to start a tenancy with them. It is better to put in the internet ads that will provide rental applications and if utilities are not included then put that in the ad where problem tenants will not bother coming around. Most jurisdictions those who handed out keys with handshake are selling then rentals are being bought by those who run thorough credit checks on all adult applicants. --147.194.xxx.xx

It sounds as if their little " I am not paying rent and you can't make me or kick me out" game is starting to bite them in the rear.

These people are getting ready to find out just how bad they messed up. --73.120.xx.xxx

Yes. Basically, the moratorium will spawn its own crisis. Many of these folks will either be homeless, couch surfing or living in substandard housing. Screening across the board has been tightened. --209.122.xx.xxx
