Where do you go to find a Virtual Assistant?

What task do you have them doing?

How well is that working out for you?

Ah, I was thinking of a virtual assistant as being like a secretary. Someone who fields phone calls, schedules repairguys, that sort of thing.

A Fiverr artist doing postcard design is more like commissioning an artist. You have a specific project; you tell them "I want a double-sided postcard with this text in these dimensions, and I like red and white, and maybe a picture of a house with a giant crack through it." And then they throw a preliminary sketch your way, and you say, "Can you change the font? And maybe make the house a little bigger? Oh, and I forgot, can you make sure you add a little text box on the back that says x, y, and z, too?" And they throw another preliminary sketch your way, and you like it, and then they do the work of doing it for real, and you pay them, and you get your file to send off to the printer's.

Fiverr is okay for piecework. I've only used it once, when I was putting together a gift. It was an artist who advertised a particular quality of work for $x, but don'tchaknow, it was really two or three times $x. (Which was what its value was, but once you changed price brackets, there were a lot of other artists I'd probably have gone with instead.) I paid it anyways, and decided to perceive it as charity. ;) If you're not interested in perceiving things as charity, be ready to walk away if the advertised cost for x level of work isn't honored.

Whenever I've done postcards or business cards, I've usually used my reliable old copy of Photoshop 6, and gone through places like Vistaprint or Overnightprints. They provide a template so that you know your image can't be larger than certain dimensions, so that nothing important gets cut off when they cut their paper. Address goes here, stamp goes there, if you want a double-sided postcard it's this much, if you want a single-sided postcard it's that much. If I want postcards that are pre-addressed, pre-postaged, and mailed by the printer, then I go through a different place. Otherwise, I'll print mailing labels and affix them myself, as well as stamping and mailing them.

(Fwiw, my reliable old copy of Photoshop 6 stopped working after the last Windows 10 update on my kids' computer. So now it only works on my old Vista computer-- which I've refrained from updating because I hate it when updates mess with my programs.) --137.118.xx.xxx

Deanna you are spot on.....

I am looking to shift some of the most routine items over to someone to knock out these reoccurring task. I want to focus on the items that make me money. Right now things are slow but I can foresee that the need for more time in the near future

So some of the work could include fielding calls, setting up sales appointments, creating sales leads list, and creating direct mail pieces.

Fiiver isn't bad for a single specific job, but not that practical for multiple task
