Hello, anyone have any idea what it would cost to furnish an apartment with rented furniture? Think business traveler on a 6 month lease but doesn’t want to move their own furniture.

You really need to give more information. How many bedrooms, square feet and what rental market. A three bedroom $2500 a month rental will be furnished better that a studio no bedroom apartment. --99.23.xxx.x

I wouldn't do it. They can rent their own. If they stain the sofa or mattress, you're responsible.

A few years ago I rented a house full of furniture for relatives who had a huge fire to use in their rental for 10ish months. Insurance company arranged it and for the life of me I can't remember the name or the cost. They brought everything in addition to the furniture - trash cans, mop, broom, basic kitchenware, a few pictures and decorative items. Price wasn't outrageous.

Business traveler is going to definitely be up there. No thrift store furniture there-- you're going to have bed, nightstand, dresser, kitchen table, couch, end tables, etc. A decent mattress might run $800, or it might run $3k. And that's not even getting into all the bedding, rugs, lamps, kitchen stuff, and so on.

One thing you might do is find the closest big city to you. Then figure out where all the rich, affluent people live. Then join their buy/sell/trade/garage sale FB page. You should be able to get incredibly decent furniture at the price--- but don't let people think that you're doing anything but shopping for yourself. They tend to perceive "scavengers" very poorly... they're okay with people using their cast-offs, but as a group tend to object strongly at the thought of someone profiting from it (ie, resell) or otherwise building a business model from their cast-offs. --137.118.xx.xxx

Look for Cord for rental furniture, or look online for hospitality furniture. There is a place out of Georgia that sells the hotel furniture when they refurnish. --67.43.xxx.xxx

I'd let him arrange his own furniture rental. Provide him with the names of the furniture rental places.

Either that, or I would buy and furnish and convert the apartment to a business rental and do short term rentals with it. --76.178.xx.xx

It really depends on to what level you want to furnish the place.

It also depends how you furnish it.

Go to an auction after lunch and furniture is dang near free around here. But you can also buy these items brand new too - SO how much do you want to spend? --24.101.xxx.xx
