Once again hoping to get some info from the vast amounts of knowledge here.
One of y granddaughters came in the house last night holding a FedEx door tag she found in the flower bed. It clearly had been out in the weather but probably not for very long. It had my name on it and hand written "must be signed for, cannot use release". I have a release so they drop most things ... every so often I need to sign. I am not expecting anything. Called the 800 number and it said it was not a valid number. This morning I went to the FE hub and she said it was not valid and nothing they can do about it. She actually crumpled it and tossed it in the trash and seemed put out when I made her get it out and give it back to me.
Any ideas what this might be or figure out a way to trace this?

If it was something you ordered, you could trace it on the Fed Ex app or they usually send numerous emails of the package’s status. Are you expecting a package? If it is something you didn’t order, but is a birthday gift, for example, the shipper will be informed that the package was not delivered. It will be up to them to figure out what to do.

Sounds very much like a scam that they use around here. Find an address where people aren't home a lot. Watch it and see when packages are delivered. Order something and wait for it to be 'dropped off' then grab it and run. Saw this happen across the street at an empty house for over a month until we alerted the delivery drivers that the house was empty and boarded up by police. If you don't remember ordering anything, your friends and relatives say they didn't send you anything, probably some sort of scam. If you have a security camera, check footage and see if anyone is 'lurking'. --72.199.xx.xxx |

I had this happen also recently. The people across the street knew I was not home (gone south for the winter). I got back unexpectedly. A fed-x truck pulls up and leaves a package. I don't recgonize the name on the package. Not mine or anyone who ever lived here in last 7 years. A couple minutes later the neighbor comes up and says XXX (the name on the package) asked him to receive the package for them but XXX must have "accidentally" put the wrong street number on it. Right!
This package had a northern Calif return address on it -from the heart of the northern Calif marijuana growing country.
It looks like the neighbor was getting drugs sent to my address using a phony name then just walking across the street and getting the package because I was not home.
I wonder what he would have said if I'd turned the package into the police?
As it was, I notified fed-x and the post office of the possible scam. Results? Neither Fed-x or the post office did anything. Nothing.
Can't say I was surprised. --24.180.xx.xx |
