I just watched a video on it. That would probably work as long as the trim wasn't glued and they didn't shoot the heck out of it with the nail gun. Also if the sheet rock isn't flimsy. I think you're still going to have some wall damage though, specially if you don't score of the top of the molding to cut the caulking.. Why would you remove the trim? If you're redoing flooring, you could always just put quarter round down or replace with wider trim, because very often the trim breaks when you take it off. --174.198.xx.xx

I bought a similar one from Lowes. I don't know what gauge steel this is, but the one from Lowes is flimsy and is ineffective. I'd say you have a chance pulling out modern trim fastened w/ nail gun, but the older baseboard nailed in back in the day requires more leverage to budge. If it approaches the thickness of a cats paw, then you should just use that. Can you get a sawzall behind and cut the nails free? Buy it and try it. If it sucks, return it. --24.194.xxx.xxx

It seems like it could be very handy. A quick search showed a couple of models priced from $25.00 to over $70.00.

I looked at it on Ron Hazelton's video see below.

Interesting tool but I've moved more to multi-taskers to cut down on the heft I haul around. Look in the paint department at the paint 3-4" multi-tool scrapers. It has a similar thin but low-flex blade that you use similar to the trim puller to get it loose and then follow behind with a flat wrecking bar to finish pulling it out. I'm always using the multi-tool on something. --64.130.xx.xxx

NE

I'm not removing the flooring. But it's tile flooring and unfortunately, years ago, the tile person ran the grout line against the baseboard trim and it doesn't look good.

I want to cover that grout line. I could put quarter round on over it but I've heard quarter round is more for wood floorings, not a good look on tile. --72.188.xxx.xxx
