Anyone use these mail order food things? First of all I could loose a few pounds, 2nd my schedule and diet is very different from my wife's (for real) she can't eat the the smallest amt of gluten or her joints aches for days, and if she doesn't she is fine.

So I don't really want her to make two different meals and the fact she has to travel to her teaching job at a university which is several hours away and stays there for 3 days a week.

Add to that this pandemic and many of our eating places are closed or just for takeout, and when I get home I really don't like to cook all the time and often then eat fast/convenient foods,..not all that healthy.

So I'm thinking about one of those delivery food to your door services,..I actually tried one about a year ago but didn't read it accurately,..really good delicious food,...but you have to do a lot of prep to serve it,..it was just a grocery drop off.

So I looked at Nutrasystem for men,..it actually looked good,..anyone try it or similar?

We use Dinnerly or Hello Fresh or whichever has the best sale on to 'come back'. Trying other food delivery options too. Yes, you have to prepare the food. But it's worth it. Hello Fresh has extensive menus that take a little more time to prepare than the average Dinnerly meal. But you are getting delicious and healthy meals for less than $6/plate (Dinnerly pricing) which beats fast food any time. Also, I've been watching sugar content - and lost over 42 lbs without a diet. Just keeping sugar below 25 grams/day. Sugar is in everything so it's tougher than it sounds but its worth it! --68.104.xxx.xxx

I don't know about systems, but DH lost over 30 lbs on WheatBelly, and I've had friends who lost 80 lbs+ on Keto. There's a lot of overlap between the two.

I lost about 15 lbs on keto about 2 years ago, but then I fell off the wagon. It's easier for me to keep up with when I'm on a routine, but it's tougher when I'm running around and needing to grab a bite to eat, or in the middle of the birthdays/Thanksgiving/Christmas/travel season. Then the Covid stuff hit, and I totally stopped eating sensibly. And then I started eating out more on purpose, since all the restaurants were struggling, so, yeah...

The first time you go into nutritional ketosis, it's good to have magnesium/potassium/sodium/calcium/electrolyte capsules on hand. There's a day of transition that's really rough. But once you're past it, things are great. If you get out of ketosis and need to go back in, it's a much easier transition in the future. It's called "keto flu", but is just your body adapting.

I need to hop back on the bandwagon as well. --137.118.xx.xxx

I have not done any of these but my brother is doing factor75 and likes it. I started to research the ones that the meals are already prepped and microwave ready. Just haven't pulled the trigger

I did Hello Fresh a couple of years ago and liked the food but not the prep required. --71.217.xxx.xxx

We see a Functional Medicine Doc. She recommended an online App. Download the app ... free... and select your eating plan preferences and the recipes are excellent! MealLime. There is also a paid version. But i have found the free version very sufficient. It also creates a shopping list that is excellent to use! We are avoiding certain foods and this app allows is to cook and eat focusing on what we can eat! --99.203.xx.xxx

My dad did Nutrasystem for a few years after my mom died. They were reasonably tasty for what they are and are easy to fix. They are a little pricey though. There were a couple of the meals he didn't like but he would order a mixture in bulk to get cheaper prices. When he died we found a half a closet of the ones he didn't like so you will probably find there is some waste. --64.130.xx.xxx

i suggested Nutrisystem to someone as they could not get out to get food and others said it didn't taste that great. But Mike A mentioned it and it sounds ok. i hear what you say about needing something ready to go.

I would definitely do the Nutrisystem for men. I was even thinking of it for me, even though I am not male, because the photos of the food look better than the women's version.

There is one locally that is fresh and there is a commercial where the woman tastes it as says "we don't have to cook anymore." I will get the name if I see it tonight. But the thing is, how contaminated can food like that get before it gets to you? Some supermarkets have prepared food but it's kind of scary to think of people walking around it all day.

I might just find a restaurant and get take out from there every night When I had my surgery in 2014, that's what I did. Dialed the phone and got enough for two days and then dialed again or another place the next time. --71.104.xx.xxx

Nutrisystem and all the others are really overpriced. Just buy a vacuum sealer, cook large batches and freeze some for later.

As for diets go, check out "The Obesity Code" by Dr Jason Fung. I've never heard weight gain/loss explained so clearly, completely, and scientifically. The book supports low carb, non-processed foods, with no snacking in-between meals and intermittent fasting. --108.69.xxx.xxx

I use My FitnessPal. It tracks exercise and you plug in what you eat. Not 100 percent accurate(nothing is) but really showed me what I was overdoing. Didn't cost a thing. Having the visual of calories, exercise minutes, etc in front of me helped. --24.47.xxx.x

I hate to cook, so have been living on lean cuisine, Amy's, and Stouffers, with a twinkee on the side once in awhile during the pandemic.

A couple years ago went on a vegan diet, no exercise, for two months. Lost 10#, cholesterol went down 33 points to match my husband's who exercises 2 hours a day on weekends and his job is his exercise 8-10 hours during the week. Engine 2 Diet. (plenty of protein in it)

For me, the chopping/cooking was insane.

I'm rethinking going back to a modified, mostly vegan diet with some meat occasionally, using a crockpot to cook healthy foods, throw it in and leave it. You can usually buy prechopped veggies.

I bought a month of nutri-system earlier this year. VERY over-priced (even with the "special") and really not very good. Lean Cuisine meals are at least as tasty, very easy and a whole lot less expensive.

For weight loss I recommend Weight watchers(now called WW). I lost 77 lbs with them. It's a great program - has been for over 50 years. --70.160.xxx.xxx
