I just got the weirdest call..... had someone that said they "applied" for one of my apartments thru Zumper and paid to have their credit ran and was wondering the outcome?
I have never asked Zumper to list our stuff, nor have I used them to run my background checks as we do all of that.
Anyone else had this happen?

John, I used apartments.com but don't have them do any of the back ground checks nor do I have them collect applications. We do all of that in house and process it.
I felt bad that this prospective tenant had been sitting there waiting and finally called me.

I think they're legit as are Trulia, Zillow, Hotpads. Zillow now charges $10 weekly per ad but that one ad will migrate to the other sites. Apartments.com, Zumper, Turbotenant do not charge. I am listed on these three at no cost and they migrate obviously to additional sites without my effort so that's what's happening. I didn't list on Realtor.com, Facebook marketplace, Home.com and Apartment List but get inquiries from them as a result of listing on Turbotenant and/or Zumper. Go figure? --73.184.xxx.xxx |

I lust in Zumper but do not have them run my credit. I think they offer a service where tenants pay a fee and have their credit run. Then they probably hit a button saying I want to apply for your unit. I have gotten the canned response of so and so wants an application. They have a service for people looking to have their information run once and then available to all listings. I have had them claim this but i can not view it. Not sure why. In theory it sounds good but for me it isnt the same screening that i use and the information maybe not be from a trusted source. The person can perhaps stretch the truth and it would all happen before i can get correct information. The one time i experienced this the person wasn't very happy with having to go thru the process twice as they were lead to believe something is the normal and not realizing these companies are not working for me. --99.203.xx.xxx |
