So occupancy rates of the vacation rental homes sets records - even with the two-month shut-down. But restaurant takes are down 30%... --50.82.xxx.xxx |

WMH it seems to be true life. We always cruised but since that's been nixed we only do "drivable places" and bring our own STUFF. Paper plates pillows and cases food -- we spray Lysol as we go in the places (even though they advertise super cleaned). We always pick low rise places due to the high rise CROWDS. Those go for beaches and elevator trips. The high rises just have to many close quarters.
Restaurants we only go to those with outside seating or every other table is empty. AIRBNB -- best rates and best prices for last minute. BBWare though. Once you book your committed. Nothing like hotels.
FYI in PCBeach you can do a winter condo with 2bd and 2 bath on the beach for 1700.00 a month.
We just came back and the places are full-- kids too. Was told since kids are doing virtual-- they can go to the vacation places and do it. --99.103.xxx.xxx |

W,
Interesting! It's time restaurants found creative ways to sell their food. More occupancy means more mouths to feed. Customers EVERYWHERE!
I have to admit I am enjoying not having to pay tips on take out. Red Lobster is offering free delivery in town. Paying a $5 delivery fee is cheaper than tipping a server.
Back when this pandemic started and restaurant owners were concerned about laying off servers I would yell at the TV "Make them delivery drivers! You need DRIVERS! Stop waiting for customers to come to you, GO serve your customers! Put some food on a tray and walk down the street! Start a food truck!"

PS
This reminds me of the sales training story about 2 shoe salesmen when the trains opened up the old West.
One guy wires back "No sales. Nobody wears shoes"
The other guy wires back "Urgent! Send more shoes ASAP! Everybody needs shoes because they don't have any!"

I was a salesperson almost my entire working life...The best of us agreed that 90% of sales is just SHOWING UP when you said you would.
And my dad (also a salesperson back in the day) said you had to have EMPATHY (not sympathy) for their issues. --50.82.xxx.xxx |
