Yes, a woman asked for a one or two bedroom apartment locally as she is moving into the area, on a local Facebook group. I have an empty like that. I checked her page and found her holding a sign high in the air advocating for something or other, badly dressed and looking unclean. Also needs a fenced yard for dog. Ironically, the one ranting about despising privileged people and hating certain skin tones is a teacher. That just depressed the heck out of me. Defunding the police will increase crime rate as there are fewer officers to enforce. Society does not change. Facebook was very helpful on my recent empty rental. One guy, who was saying all the 'right things' had a page with him smoking pot with his gang buddies, a picture of him holding a gun pointed at the camera and cash on his lap, and him with several huge pitbulls. Not that litigation is my 1st thought...but somehow city employees have caused me to think actions have repercussions. Is there any way to hold city employees accountable for actions like that? Another one from a local group asked about my empty unit. i didn't see it right away. A couple days later, she and her hubby were again posting that they were suing their current landlord because water came into the basement after a rainstorm and some of their possessions got moldy. Showed pictures of moldy shoes. No one puts clothing in a basement that I know of. It's guaranteed to be damp. I always tell tenants not to do that and have elevated pallets for them for other things. Then the same people make a video of the rental with the stairs and walks made of bricks that are not cemented in. The guy was lifting all the bricks. Dangerous to use loose bricks to make steps. I am happy that I will not be worried about tenants posting a video of some part of my property and complaining about it. They didn't mention his full name, just his first name. --71.104.xx.xxx
