I started 8 days ago with Facebook (first time trying). Then 2 days later did the Zillow listing (I'd used them last year. Then added Craig'slist (hate them) 2 days after that. So 6 days in, I had 49 respondents, mostly from Zillow and Facebook, and none of them panned out. Most were just clicking those 'boxes' and had no idea about me answering. THEN late on the 6th day I got a message on Facebook from Carla, who was only answering because her brother, Julian, didn't have a Facebook account. Well, 8 days in, I have my place rented to Julian and his brother, Diego who are 35 and 29 who have mostly lived with 'family'. The House they were all renting was sold and they all had to scramble to find other places. Mom and Dad went one way, 2 brothers to ME. Also have a 5 yr old boy who only will be here on weekend visitations. Nice guys so far, they have NO furniture since they have lived with family forever but it will be fun 'hosting' 2 bachelors and seeing what happens. A whole new experience awaits. I think Facebook did a good job of getting responses, but Craig's List got to more people. Seems like it's well known around this area. --72.199.xx.xxx |

Carl,
Don't forget yard signs with a flyer and an app in the pouch. Still works for us. No phone number because I don't want calls, just our website address.

I hope you did a credit report. People who have lived with family get furniture given to them when they have to move. Do you have any idea if they work or ? --71.104.xx.xxx |

Thanks Allym. They came prepared with copies of Driver Licenses, and a month's worth of pay stubs. Both work at the same place, one for 5 plus years and the younger brother for 4 plus years. Some company that does major set up and moving of business furniture. I'm thinking they might actually own the business but they are not saying. Salaried on the older one, good income, very good. All legit, I looked up the company and past addresses and they indeed told me legit info. The mom, dad, brothers all were renters at a big house that the owners decided to sell in June. Mom and younger son saving up to purchase their own house so they say. Aunt (who they are living with for the past 3 months owns that house according to tax records. The boys as I am calling them, seem like 'mamma's boys', quiet, respectful, probably lived with parents for a looooong time. Sounds like a reputable family OR they intend to set up a pot farm in the back yard. Won't know which for awhile. --72.199.xx.xxx |

Yep Small potatoes, I'm anxiously waiting for whatever happens next. Kid is from a divorce. Looks like kid was born, divorce happened quickly. Guessing unplanned kiddo, he married the gal and then she figured out she didn't want this guy. NEW hubby got a harassment order from 'my' new tenant which my tenant alerted me to himself. Interesting. He didn't have to tell me, but when I asked if I would find 'anything' on court records, he let me know. I verified it with the court. Order was settled without being issued. Dad gets the kid on weekends and does pay child support. Can't find out the actual 'documents' until our court opens again so I can use the computers in the clerk's office. They have the entire cases to print out. Neat for seeing testimony and rulings. Weird that everything they told me checks out. Darn. Too easy. As for furniture, he did say if he was going to bring in a 'moving truck' he would let me know before he did so I wouldn't be surprised at something huge in the driveway. I'm just guessing that the 'boys' lived with mom and dad (who were renting from someone else for a long time) and mom and dad have all the furniture at wherever they are. Sale of house (rental) happened in late June, address checks out, 'boys' moved in with Aunt (I have all her info too) right afterwards. Don't see any foreclosures or civil cases filed. At least I got money to pay my overdue mortgage from August and Sept. That really helps. No activity yesterday (he said they wouldn't be here, told the truth). Hopefully, I will get to see the kiddo tonight. A whole new world starting right here, right now. I'm still leaning towards the pot farm angle. --72.199.xx.xxx |
