Knock on wood... all of our tenants have paid rent thru all of this. A few slow payers, not communication was awesome and payments made on time.
Had a slow payer call yesterday and ask me if I knew what the status on the Hero's Act was... and I said I honestly didn't.
When I asked why, he said "I am going to wait to pay any further rent until I know what the Hero's Act will produce and give."
I asked why and he said he was tired of paying for everything and was waiting for all this "help" the Government is promising and not giving to "the little guy".
Not much more of a conversation after that... and he pretty much hung up..

our office has decided to keep their mouth shut about whats required of tenant-- like the affidavit. THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO IT.
We still file our cases electronically to warn other LL's that the resident has not paid where there living now. We let he resident know that also. They, residents, seem to think we can't file for none pay. --99.103.xxx.xxx |

If you are like me, it's probably a good thing the conversation ended then. I would have struggled to hold my tongue. It will be interesting to see if he pays, hey may have been pulling your chain or he could be serious, who knows with the wildly entitled people this country has produced.

BRAD - Mine too. I was brought up that all your bills and responsibilities are taken care of first (rent, utilities, car payment etc) and then if you have money left over, then you have "play money"
It amazes me that so many people are not that way.
MikeA...... it was a struggle. completely. Most of my tenants know that I am a straight shooter and I am going to shoot straight with them on everything. I wont sugar coat it and will lay right out what is going to happen in each situation. And I follow thru. --98.22.x.x |

My premier slow pay T has been working during the moratorium and bought a White Mercedez Kompressor - wonder if the unpaid rent got used to buy that? Illegally parked - so I called the tow truck!
