As I get more and more requests for funds/donations for the presidential election I get more and more FREE mailers to the officials committee's. I'm using those to the full extent.
On the sheet asking for funds I place in large Capitol letters "I/M A LANDLORD" NOT ONE MORE PENNY NOT ONE MORE VOTE UNTIL THIS moratorium is lifted by the CDC.
I then paste (staple) the amendment V (BELOW) to it.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;
NOR SHALL PRIVATE PROPERTY BE TAKEN FOR PUBLIC USE, WITHOUT JUST COMPENSATION!!!!!

NE one thing really really frosting me. The CDC is running the show and don't want people to be forced to move due to not paying rent--- BUT-- BUT if your a mortgage company you can evict them?????
Maybe I'm not the only one thinking this but when this stuff ids lifted-- what law will be herd in the courts-- the federal or state? Cause KNOWING our judges all I can hear them now saying: how the feds have no jurisdiction in local issues-- can you hear the nightmare? This is where the attorneys will try commingling the state and fed laws to have it every way they want-- with LL's left out.
This is not about the money but the rights of LL's to control their own property-- forget about the rent issue for a while and think on what's happening with your control of your property. --99.103.xxx.xxx |

This really surprised that it is happening in Los Angeles of all places. I would expect them to have there own moratorium.

Patrick, here's one other suggestion that may be the hiccup for you. For the most part, this site wants to stay focused on landlording and real estate related issues as much as possible. We encourage those who are looking for political debates to utilize other forums. I do understand however that currently "political" issues are becoming increasingly interwoven into the survival and success of landlords, and therefore such discussions can often not be avoided.
We just ask that such discussions be handled in a respectful manner and without demeaning references.
