I had a huge issue with mobility in January, and spent months on a walker and such, had multiple shots, ablations, manipulations.

To give you some idea of scope, $19k.

I found a place that creates BIKES for seniors. Trikes, really, electric.

Order July 7 got it yesterday.

I am now MOBILE again. I smiled all day yesterday as I rode it up and down my own road. Ready to take it for a trek.

Liberty Trikes. Have to endorse knowing so many of us are "aging." --50.82.xxx.xxx

I had a family member turn 80 and could no longer drive safely. We took his car away from him and only allowed his helper to drive him places two times a week. Without the means to travel to his normal shopping spots on his own, life wasn't any fun. So I took an electric scooter and added training wheels. I added side mirrors to the handle bars and got a light weight cable lock. I also put a large basket on the rear over the fender.

For the next year he was so happy he could go to visit with friends in the neighborhood, buy vegetables and shop.

Since then I purchased for myself a set of electric small bicycles that fold up and can go into the trunk.. Good for us to go the local park and ride around the pond, golf coarse, etc.

Have lots of fun.... I hope you have lithium batteries, they are lighter weight and can be charged 500-2000 times.

It comes with one lithium battery of course but I bought a second one. 36 volts, can go about 20 miles on a charge depending on rider weight and terrain. It is light enough to pedal without assist - some e-bikes are simply too heavy to use without the battery, this one is not. Although I don't intend to ride it without one!

The batteries are j u s t under the size that airlines forbid, on purpose, so you can travel with it.

The trike is only 24 inches wide so it can go places the bigger electric bikes cannot. Also a big plus: pull one pin and it folds up, pull two and a wire and it come apart in two pieces for easier transport.

My husband ordered a wheelchair carrier with a ramp to go on the hitch on the back of my car so I can go places with it on my own. --50.82.xxx.xxx

6x6 I am MUCH better but have been so immobile I am weak. It's been 9 months since the "bad time" and even longer since I took a bad fall. So this trike is a godsend. --50.82.xxx.xxx

FREEDOM!!!

Tiny note: my ins agent said some elec bikes must be insured as a self propelled vehicle.

Our world is changing.

Last year in Jerusalem elec bikes were everywhere. Expensive gas, hills, crowded streets, zero space for parking...

Update: I have gone from 2 miles per ride to, today, 8.8. You know I like to have my numbers end in zero or five, but just couldn't do the last 1.2 miles based solely on terrain and wind not will.

This is the best thing EVER for older and even way younger people. Had an 8-10 years girl call after me "Great Bike!"

And I suspect even NE would like the owner of the company - based in PA and a solid Libertarian although that's not why I bought it.

Carolyn/MO please check it out. It's wonderful. --50.82.xxx.xxx

I got the white and it is traditional to name them on the official FB page so she is "The Pearl." Tribute to Janis.

We rode a bit less than 7 miles today on some back country roads and through the Equestrian Center and by some horse farms - very little traffic and the Trike always gets a wave instead of an angry honk. And my husband rides a recumbent which also gets a second look.

I can't walk very well, but I can ride this thing and I try VERY hard to pedal the entire time rather than just coast. The difference is if I need to rest, I CAN! --50.82.xxx.xxx
